other countries have some medical themed dramas too but not as much as what American Television have. I am just curious because Medical dramas don't seem to work in other countries. Other countries do have medical dramas too but they only have one like once in 10 years.
I am just curious and I don't have nothing against these type of shows, I just want to know what is interesting about Doctors that America have multiple dramas and TV shows about them.
Usually I found them way to organized and boring but medical dramas always portray them to have a complicated marriage or something.
Why do the Hospital Drama plots clicks with the American audience?

You are right, there are several American tv shows that revolve around doctors. You made me notice that actually. I am not fond of them though. I remember when I was a kid I used to like Doogie Howser MD a lot. Maybe it had a lot to do with the fact that I really liked the idea of a kid turning into a medical doctor.
Now let me go back to your question. My answer to it will be just based on my own views. Well, in United States, the entire profession of medical doctor is taken as glamorous. Normally, it is claimed that every year less than 30,000 Americans get to graduate with a medical degree (subtracting the nurses and other healthcare students). Also it is just not easy to get into medical school here. But if you ever get a hold of the degree you will be making more income than others. All this makes the profession very glamorous. It is possible that people from it are attractive to us Americans. That is why, when there is a show about it on television we tend to give it more importance.

I just realized I have an embarassing typo,The title of this discussion is "why American loves Medical dramas" I dont know what is wrong with my why I typed "medical"as American.
Thanks that you still understand the topic despite of my typo. I think almost every network in the US have a medical drama. Its like for producers its easy to market a drama if a doctor is the protagonist. so Doctors are more glamorized than business tycoons and engineers. I kind of notice in other countries medical dramas are not popular.
