please respect too the rights of non smoker people in public transport and an another public place
i always make this discussion..i always write because always get inspiration after go home, i always in one public transport with a smoker..sometimes i think they are selfish..
but i always lost of my inspirations when i arrive at my home
but when I read about how selfish smokers and do not appreciate people who do not smoke , i remember it and try to write it as one discussion
somehow I think the government protections for a non smoker people is so weak and sometimes it`s none protection
how come the governmnent is so careless and let the smoker can smoke in every place in public one??
if only the government learned a lot, how dangerous smoking is, of course they would soon make rules regarding the prohibition of smoking in public places
how about at your place?

Hi!
That's unfortunate. Here in our country it's already prohibited to smoke in public especially in public utility vehicles. A lot of people are abiding by it but a lot also are not. Even the drivers themselves go against the rules. I think it's just like you said. The implementation by the authorities is weak. Many people still don't realize the dangers of smoking to the smokers themselves and to the people around them especially to pregnant women.

You will find this in most developing countries. In London, you will be fined 1,000 Pounds for smoking in public places no matter who you are. So, if you travel in public transports like bus or train, you will not see anyone smoking. This is very, very good and should be followed by Indonesia.

I hate smoking.
The smoke chokes me everytime I am near a smoker.
Sometimes, if I seat or near smokers, I make faces to let them kill the smoke but most smokers are really stubborn I think.
They still have to finish the whole stick to butn their lungs and other people's lungs

Here in the USA smoking is not alllowed on public transportation, either in buses or trains, and surely not
in public places. Most cafes and restaurants also do not
'allow smoking at all. Nor im movie houses or theatres.
We do pay attention to non smokers here in the United
States, you will be fined heavily if you break the anti'smoking laws
here.

I agree, smokers are too selfish and never consider the rights of non-smokers.
Good thing here in my country, there are certain laws that smoking in public places is punishable.
There are few who ignore this law-but thanks, most are abiding and considering the rights of non-smokers.

No, not enough at all! As long as there's smoker in the public it's not enough for me. Those chemical in the smoke will be blown everywhere by the wind and might end up in your house =_=#. Even if you don't smell or see it. The government should really make a special place for smoker. Not in the public. Public place should be clean.

I think the rule to forbid people to smoke in public place is already built a long time ago adhyz... what our country lack is to obey the rule... how on earth people would obey this rule if the law enforcement is also smoking in public.

Ahah it is a public secret. We can't control all smokers that easy. Especially in our country. My idea is to give a fine to them who smoke in public areas. The fine must cost high so the smokers will think twice to smoke in public areas. But you know, the smokers will complain, it is hard to arrange many smokers in our country, especially for them with less knowledges about healthy.
It is a simple and common problem but hard to resolve.

this is a major issue because not only the person is causing a nuisance out of himself but also his habit is giving a major health problem to you as well...we cannot approach such people and tell them to stop when in public places...but who listens to us especially when we are commoners.

Here in the US we have many laws about where people can smoke. Some states and some cities have stronger laws. I do not believe anyone can smoke on public transportation, but my community is so small we do not have anything but taxi cabs, and very few of them. We need to be polite to each other, but we all end up acting rude at times. I am not a smoker, I do not have smoking in my house and I do not enjoy having to breathe the second hand smoke of others.

In Singapore indoor smoking is completely banned. Even if you wanna smoke outdoor, some public places like bus stops are also not allowed. I personally detest smoking a lot because the smell will cause headache. I think the smokers should really watch their behaviors. It's up to you to destroy your own health but not mine.

Our city, Davao City, Philippines is very strict in implementing the "No Smoking Ordinance". There is no smoking area for non smokers here in our place. So If you are caught violating this ordinance you'll have to pay fines and of course imprisonment. Drivers whose passengers are smoking are also liable and also the establishments if there are customers smoking inside. So here in our city we are not afraid to reprimand those who cannot control smoking. Those who smoke should fine a hiding place so that they will not be caught. Before, a certain place of establishments alloted certain areas for smoking but now it is already prohibited: total no smoking in all establishments, public places and etc. Upon arrival at Davao International airport or in the port area, the passengers especially non residents of Davao is given warning that our place is a non-smoking city. There is no exemption. In fact there were many who were caught because they thought that they are exepmted since they are only visitors of the place. We are very lucky that the No smoking city ordinance is strictly implemented here.

Hi there adhyz82,
W have the same problem adhyz, and i do get into quarrels with people who smoke because of these, they tend to smoke in areas were other people are that don't smoke and they get angry why are they being reprimanded, maybe we should petition to our government's to help us in avoiding this criminal acts.

I'm sorry to hear that, There are just smokers who don't think about the health of other people.
I smoke, But i'm a responsible smoker. I don't smoke in public places, whether it's a public transport, park or just about anywhere. I also hate those smokers who do that thing smoking in public. In our place we have our policy that no smoking inside the public transport or public places, if you get caught they'll give you a fine. But too bad, i think they're not really strict in doing that. I still see people smoke in public places. But anyways, i hope that they'll be responsible next time.

The same is the condition at my place also.well there are rules of nonsmoking at malls, lifts, offices but going on road, standing roadside, outside of mall gates you will find a number of smokers..I allways think is that is that place not a public place.whenever you are at the gate of the mall there are a number of people standing smoking so before entering you have to go through the smoky cloud..
If i were a government i would have created seperate rooms for smoking so atleast nonsmokers won't get affected. You know the researches have said that passive smoking is equally dangerous ..

yes, in mall, it`s good regulations,..
but in street, there are no more strong regulations which can control and supervise the comsumption of smoking...
but it`s annoyed if we get again the unresponsible smoker when we are still in public transportatio
can you imagine,it`s not wider in the car but too much smoking everywhere
