How often does people think that beign a goverment servant or employee makes you feel your life is settled and you don't need to worry about your life's security, you have a bright future and etc etc. Do you think you have achieved it what you want to by working as government employee, or you can reach there even working in private sector. I think a will finds a way

It's depend on the position, my bf is working in government transportation but I don't think he is secured with his current job. The salary is always late and low probably because of hundreds of employees. Most of private employer gives much higher salary than regular government employee.

How I wish they can demand like that, the fact is he's not into office job, he claims ticket from passenger that's why they have a very low salary.

if you work for the government here in Canada, most often, you future is secure as the government seldom lays people off. my dad worked for the government for all his working life and got a nice pension which my mom now gets about half of since he passed away.

With increasing reservations and quotas for minorities in government sector it has become quite difficult for general category to land on a government job. Cut throat competition makes the matter even more worse.
There is a government factory near my place where I did my minor internship. There was a vacancy for 16-20 posts of fireman. About 5 thousand candidates applied and when results were out not even a single general candidate was selected. All from SC, ST and OBC. Felt bad to see all those general candidates go home with their heads held down.
Someone please start a discussion on the "Reservations and quota system in India" ...

Hello there imwithimran,
Hope your okay today. For me in life, with any endeavor that you face you need to work hard and be tactful in gaining the upperhand. You don't need to cheat or sabotage your opponent or officemates you just need to do and think of the best ways to secure you and your families future so government or private. I guess it is up to you to succeed.

Im a government servant.I seen many being jealous of me just because im a government employee.Government job gives you money, happiness, security and fame. Moreover i get time for my family too.The best part of it is that As an engineer "I GoT A CHANCE TO SERVE THE PUBLIC directly" unlike my friends in the private sector. In private sector u get a few of these but not all.

Here working for the government is a great job. Since the benefits are a lot. The salary is great and the work is not so hard. The life is comfortable. So applying for a job in the government job becomes to be so difficult. Many candidates just compete one position.
I love China

Some probably would think this since the chances of a government shutting its operations down is so low, almost nil, as compared with private companies wherein even the old established ones can stop operating. But still, attaining a bright future is easier if you're working in the private sector. Well, in my country, at least. Government workers are really paid low. The president of our country gets a salary equivalent to someone in a middle management position at a private firm.

government job is a secure career, with flexible timings, pension and a lot many benefits. Though the salary of government employees is not much as compared to those in the private companies but they have other benefits.
