Some schools and universities around the world are already introducing distance learning and online education. As a student/person who is about to enroll to a particular school, would still prefer the traditional "going to school" process or would you rather take the online schooling if the course you wish to take is available both online and offline?

I've looked at both and can see advantage and disadvantage in both. I have two main questions for education. What will the course do for me and how much will it cost me? Another aspect of importance to me in education is moral. What course (online or social gathering) is going to motivate the most?

I have had both experiences.
One was in the classroom and was a one day out of the week, evening class where the teacher asked that questions not be asked until the end and read out of the course book while we just "listened" and followed along. I could have done that in the comfort of my own home by reading it myself without his 'help' duh!
Another experience was a tutorial I found online that required a lot of motivation and hard work on my part inorder learn the material. It was difficult but I accomplished it on my own. The disadvantage was that it would never get recognized (credited) like a registered school would in the real world.

I prefer to go the school instead of the virtual one. I want to have the socializing factor that makes it fun to learn. Another reason is when I'm online I get get distracted by a lot of things. :)

I would choose online classes. There are few schools on my island and if I chose traditional classes I would have to travel to one of the neighbour islands every day and that would get expensive. I also love the freedom that online classes give me. I am able to study anywhere and any time that I choose as long as I have access to the internet. I have a laptop and wireless internet internet connection, so if I choose to go away for a few days I can just bring my laptop and my wireless internet connection and study somewhere else.
I don't take online classes and the moment, but I took a online psychology course in 2010. Sometimes I missed the face-to-face interaction with the other students and the teacher, but I would still choose online classes again, because I think that there are many other advantages.

I'm about to start my first semester of college, but I took courses last semester part time. I like going to class. I learn better from a teacher than I do on the computer. Also, I can engage in class discussions and get to know people and make friends. I would not mind taking some classes online, but there are some I will need to take in person because I am going into medicine.

there are courses that are suitable for distance learning and some courses that are designed for classroom teaching. for example, courses with practical application are difficult to offer online such as engineering and architecture. however, business courses are popular online. this course is suitable to be taught online. for me, i would prefer to go to the university, unless i have special reason to learn the alternative way - online.

Well it depends but if I was given the choice, I would prefer to go to school. It's better to be in the actual school environment and truly experience it as learning that way is better than reading things online or watching videos. You also get to interact and socialize with people and make friends along the way. If the course I want to do is both then I'll take them both! It would be great to go to school and learn extra at home too. It's way more fun to study at school, being at home is kinda boring don't you think?
But if you don't have the money to travel all the way there to school as some people live pretty far then stick to online schooling. It's more convenient and faster to learn that way but I reckon it's not the best.

It depends on the amount of time u are able to allot.IF u have time then prefer to "go to school" instead, i develops the seriousness in the subject.Online schooling does not have that much intensity.I feel if u seriously want to study "go to school".U will develop both discipline and interest. All the best!
