When I was growing up in Texas, I had many wild pets that I caught myself. These included kangaroo rats, gophers, coyotes, owls prong horn antaloup, rattlesnakes and other snakes along with many other reptiles and inverts such as scorpions. I usually would watch the animals for long periods of time before I would try to catch them to make them into "pets". Now that I am older and hopefully wiser, I would advise people to do a lot of research on any animal that they want to have as a pet and not after you buy one. This will hopefully keep many animals from dying needlessly.
