Our dog, Max gets crazy when he sees me arriving. It's fun but sometimes it's annoying because he would always smell my butt.
A while ago I arrived on my scooter and he saw me and waited for me at the gate then followed me until I parked my scooter. He was bustling around me and I tried so hard to prevent him from my smelling my butt. He followed me as I entered our house and he just wouldn't leave me alone! I guess that's what I get for feeding him with my leftovers.

Dogs are really loyal to their owners. They can smell us even we are still a bit far from them. I have two dogs too, but they are on leash because every time I took it off they are very hard to control.Running here and there and can be annoying sometimes. I was secretly laughing while reading your discussion because of all the parts on your body why your pet picked to sniff your butt every time he sees you.Mine licks my toes or sniffs the lower part of my pants.

Ahhh.. now it's not a secret that you laughed! Well, it's not only mine that my dog sniffs. Max also sniffs my mom's butt, my little niece's butt, and who else I don't know!

I think that you've been good him, that's why he acts that way. I think most dogs smell the butts of people, i don't know why. Maybe They have a great sense for butts. LOL. But anyways, i think you have a great dog. Try to toss him something, he might be hungry or something if he just don't leave you alone. LOL.

Oh, I remember one time my niece had a small ball. Max seemed to be fond of it, too. We played catch and he was just so amusing when he's going after the ball! But he did not return it to me after catching it.

Oh yeah, I'm thankful Max loves me. I just wish he'd stop sniffing my butt.

My little dog is excited to see me when I come in too. I am glad she can't reach my butt or she would probably be trying to smell it too. She does follow me through the house jumping on the back of my ankles until I pick her up. Maybe he was trying to reach my butt

Yeah! Probably! I watched Dr. Doolittle before and it said there that when dogs sniff your butt, it means a handshake to them, like a greeting. I'm wondering if that's true because Max have been with us for a long time! Why would he still need to "handshake" with me???

Ours too. We have two dogs. One is a hybrid and the other is a local dog. Both of them are really crazy when we arrive home. Their tails are wagging violently that sometimes it is a sight to behold! Sometimes, I do have problems with our local dog since it just jumps over me even when he is dirty. He is so energetic and enthusiastic t welcome me out that it is really hard to stop him. Sometimes it becomes annoying to because I can't control him. Tho other one with a breed can be controlled though. She sits down first and waits for me to be able to close the gate first before trying to get close to me. I can order her to sit down first if I don't want her to jump into me or when she is dirty. I always pat her up for her good ways. She really is a smart dog because we already taught her when she was still young. But still, it is a great sight to see those two dog fighting for attention whenever I arrive at the gate of our house. One of them will get jealous when one is not pat p first for the welcome.

I guess there are really differences between a dog with "breeding" and an askal. Max is the latter but sometimes I think he's got other breed in him because he's smart a lot of times.

Hahaha! My dog does the same thing...well, almost the same thing. She gets excited whenever she sees me, but she doesn't sniff my butt! But then again she's a Chihuahua so she can't reach that high! At least not when I'm standing anyway! LOL
Happy mylotting!

I get pissed off when my dogs start jumping up on me when I reached home. They suddenly turn insane on seeing me. You can imagine I have 5 dogs and all are doing the same thing by jumping up and down the minute I come in the house. They are all in house dogs.

Well, good for you. Max is cute and I find it amusing that he behaves that way when he sees me coming home but sometimes I find it annoying. I don't like being sniffed. Good thing our dog doesn't like to lick.

it is not you feeding him left overs. He is showing you that he loves you. And he likes the attention that you give him

It's okay for Max to miss me, wag his tail to show he missed me or bark at me to tell me he missed me, I just don't like it when sniffs me.
