I must admit I'm a computer addict. I can't imagine a day without computer. I would open my computer everyday and check on my Facebook and surf the net to get updated about anything like from current events to entertainment. It's a guilty pleasure I can't live without. How about you? Are you like me? Share it with me =)

Technology is a vast revolution for human comprehension of entertainment, information and network connection but it wasn't everything to live for, because real things can only be interacted by human connections...I was once like you but I changed, because I want to see more, because I believe there's more to life than just sitting and surfing...

lol. do you know that advert with the young lady talking about how her parents spend life? If i remember correctly, it's a Mazda advert. lol she cannot fathom not living in the information age with gadgets and all communicating with 1000s of friends online, while her parents only have a few friends and are out enjoying life experiencing their new car with the few friends. It's ironic how this generation think that life is better spent in front of a gadget instead of really experiencing the persons they talk to on these gadgets in person. well, the times are changing but i would rather spend my life enjoying others than to simulate enjoying them through technology. I would prefer to see technology for what it is: devices to help us interact when the moment doesn't offer the opportunity to do so in person. Happy Mylotting mylotters

I also think what you have just said. Many times , we use the gadgets as those were the only option to do and our life are being managed based on them. I personally can handle without a computer for my entertainment. Of course there are all the important e-mails messages from the studies or work and some tasks that are being done on the computer. In many places , the computer and the internet are no longer a luxury but a must. See a university , work places , libraries , even coffee places. I think computers have to be in public places so people won't waste too much time using them and use them only for good reasons. Even at homes , computers are better be at the living room.

A day with out a computer is like a minute without oxygen. You wont die but you will definitely suffocate. In this present world dominated and dependent on computers and it's technology, without it you cant make it out.

I'd definitely think that I'd have a difficult time of it. I don't think that I really could. I'd be willing to try, but I doubt that I would do very well.

I am quite guilty of this one as well. I can't manage to survive a day without even checking my email or facebook. There's something inside me that urges me to open and check everything I can check online. It became an everyday routine I guess. . .

Yeah, I'm hooked. Although I pretend not to be. Isn't denial the classic sign of an addiction? I keep thinking that on a Saturday or Sunday I just won't turn the computer on at all, but I always seem to find an excuse to do it anyway!

Yes, i can manage in a day or two...But more than that, I might go crazy...:):) :) Sometimes it will depend on the kind of work you are doing. If I am in my office and even at home, I need to work w/ my computer. But if I am mobile, say boarding a bus for several hours, more than 10 - then I need a lot of sleep as I arrive my destination. The next day would be a tough one, because I still have to check if there is an internet connection in the area. This is the occasion when I have to wish I were in my office or at home doing my normal work...

Yes, I can manage to do so, but only if I have other things to be busy with. If I have other activities which can deviate me from using the computer, then there will be no problem for me to dumped the urge to check the internet. But if I have nothing else ot do and is on bum mode and the internet and computer is within reach, I won't be able to hold myself from using it and browsing. I might need to log in to myLot when I have nothing else to do.

I pretty much use the computer everyday but I think I can survive one day without it. I have other forms of entertainment! If I'm not on the computer, I have the radio, television and my ps2 to entertain me. I don't spend a whole day on the computer, I do take breaks or else I will be painful headaches if I hang on the computer for too long. So I reckon I can put off computer just for one day, but no more than that. But if you said no technology for a whole day, I think I'll probably die!

Hi aicasalinks, I could and have survived a day/weeks without the computer...and not for any reason other than not feeling well and just needed to take a break from the computer... It would be very scary if I could not draw myself from anything especially a computer...I like the computer, its keeps be busy for hours but I am certainly not addicted to it.. When THINGS like the use of a computer take over your life/day that you can't live withour it, seems scary to me....

I cant go a day without using the internet. I use it on my phone, having an iphone helps me out because i can get onto mylot and do responses from my phone and even upload pictures from my phone. I use the internet for alot of uses, i use it at work to access permits for jobs and get emails and files from different companies and the real estate agents i work with on a daily basis at work, so for me i need to have the internet and when it does go down at work and i need to get on craigslist or email i can use my phone for a backup. The internet is used so much daily for me and i dont think i could go back to the old fashion way at work and get things done fast.

Yes, i was able to do it. In our office, we have this business continuity planning wherein the employees were tested on how to handle a day without the use of computers. Yes, we were all able to do it but with really big effort. We were typing away everything using a manual typewriter... eewwrrr...

YES, YES and YES. We are the same, no day without computer. a day without computer is like a year without rain :D I prefer to stay in my room with my computer than go out with no advantages. I know it is not good for our social, but sometimes I just want to be with my computer. That's all :D. Someone need to force me if they want me to get out of my room
