All I want to know is, when will they consider Kobe greater (nothin against mike j). What will Kobe have to do to be considerd greater than Jordan!? Has he did enuff? If He wins 1 or 2 more will that be enuff. Will Kobe ever be greater?

Frankly, Kobe's fan as i am , i don't think he can catch up with Jordan in terms of achievement on basketball. You see, during Jordan Age, Michael was much better than other players in NBA. Hence he could fulfill many incredible records and get a rift of honor. As to Kobe, surely, he is a great basketball player. In contemporary NBA, all players are much stronger and crafty than their predecessors. Moreover, today's defence is on a higher level than that of before. So it is rather hard to get high score and have a overwhelming achievement. Actually, to my mind, Kobe Bryant is stronger than Michael Jordan. And it is stronger competitors in NBA today that make Jordan eclipse Kobe. Maybe Kobe can't get more than six champion rings on his finger. Yet he is definitely the greatest basketball player at the bottom of my heat!!!

Today's NBA player is highly competitive their defense is in a higher level but not as physical as compare of 80's and 90's. Mike is only 6'6 while Kobe is 6'8. Kobe is bigger than Mike but Mike beat 3 defenders in the air and dunk to many big men in the league. Even the coach of the Pistons said no one can defend Mike, it's one versus 5 on the court in their eastern conference game..

Kobe scored 81 points in a single game! One of the many achievements he received that Jordan didn't. I don't care what no one says, Kobe will be just as great if not better at the end of his carrier. I have good reason to feel this way considering I have been watching him his whole carrier. I also saw the Jordan error and the way they play is totally different. I don't see how the guy at the bottom of post could even say Kobe imitating Jordan! Smh, don't be s hater your whole life.

I don't think they'll ever consider him greater and I don't think he's deserving either. Yes as a one on one threat I'd have to give Kobe the edge. I don't think he compares as a team leader though. As for high flying artistry I still don't think either of them compare to Julius Erving. Michael Jordan is the greatest and it would take a few more spectacular years for even Kobe to reach the same level. I don't think it is going to happen. No one else is really making that type of impression. Lebron can maybe start thinking about it if the Heat ever actually turn themselves into an NBA dynasty. There's another thing I don't think is going to happen. They might take a title but I don't think they'll be that sort of dynasty.

To me there already a Dynasty. Just as great as the bulls, but not better. I dont have to much against Lebron, only that he's a trader. This wasn't about Erving, even though he was great(no were great as MJ or KOBE to me). Back to Lebron choking self, he'll probably always be dominant, but never GREAT. I mean, he left his home team that kinda knocks him completely out that category! Like my guy at the top said, some already feel like Kobes greater (like me), buts it's full-time Laker Haters. Making it hard on him. Yes Kobe had shaq, but shaq clearly needed him more. Of cousre they will consider him greater, just as soon as he win 1 more ring. There's more Kobe can do and he still has the talent to get it done. I think there just holding that one incident against him still. It only makes since because, when you break the law. Whatever you did, sometimes even when your not guilty. People will still have that image in there head. But, that's all I wanted to say.

no, he hasn't done enough. i think he has like 2 or 3 scoring titles. jordan has 10 including leading the league in scoring 7 straight years. kobe has like 4 or 5 championships. jordan has 6 and never lost in the nba finals. kobe lost in the finals at least 2 times that i know of. jordan also has the highest playoff scoring average. jordans bulls also won a record breaking 72 games in 1 season.

Kobe's career is winding down. There's nothing he can do now to catapult him past Jordan in the minds of most people. The individuals who believe Kobe is on Jordan's level or even past Jordan's level are the individuals who have felt that way for a few years now. They've been on Bryant's side. It's everyone else who needs to see more.
Unfortunately, there just isn't anything more Kobe can give. We know who he is at this point. He's still the man in LA. The team is still living or dying with Bryant. But in terms of taking over, Kobe and his career path has revolved around the Lakers' center position just as much as it has around Kobe and his guard position.
That's not a knock against Bryant in any form or fashion, just because he had Shaq and then Gasol in his prime. Bird had McHale and Perish. Magic Johnson had Kareem and Worthy. But then you get to Jordan - he had Pippen and Luc Longley.
If Kobe and the Lakers won it all this year, then there would really be a serious conversation underway about his overall greatness compared to Jordan. But as it stands now, Kobe Bryant is the greatest NBA player since Michael Jordan left.
I don't see anyone around who can take that mantle away either. It's all Kobe. LeBron James is nearly a decade in already and he has shown nothing but an ability to be the most dominant force ever until the 4th quarter, where he then subsequently shrinks and disappears. Derrick Rose is more on Allen Iverson's level. And Kevin Durant hasn't been playing long enough to warrant placement.
So it's still Kobe's league! The bad thing is that he's on the downside of an awesome career.
