The father of my best friend had argument 2 hours ago. They are fighting and shouting its been a month since my best friend already got out of the hospital. And that month all what my best friend did was just sleep, eat, and watch just like that.
I didn't know that they are financially broke to make a CT-Scan. And the Physician recommends to them to make Chemotherapy which was earlier mention that they have to undergo CT-Scan first to know some tumor can be found. She just touch and press the tummy of my best friend. And the Doctor anticipate she has a tumor already.
Now my best friend is confused. They skip the very important part the CT-Scan. In my own opinion. I believe they have to perform CT-Scan first before going to any recommendation. Now the next problem is where to get money.
The money they are expecting will be on March. They have to wait 2 months before they can proceed. Gosh! I don't know if they can still catch the life of my best friend. I don't like to say that my best friend is loosing hope now. huhuh

Yah.. I agree with Shimi's idea. You can chip in with all your friends so that you can come up with the sums of money needed for the CT scan. Or, you can even make a cake lottery. Good luck...

First of all: there were doctors before there was a CT scan. There were even great doctors. How come only a CT scan is trusted? In many cases people have a CT scan, X ray, Echo etc etc and the doctors are only watching that. Not listening to the patient or examine the body. Do you really believe a doctor is not able to palpate the belly and feel if these are normal organs or a tumor?
What you can be sure of is that if a chemotherapy is suggested this is not for fun. Also in most cases this is the end and last hope. So if a doctor is suggesting that the only thing your friend can do is: to agree and do it as soon as possible (with all side effects and hope for the best) or to deny and stay the way it is. In both cases your friend can die soon, or later or live a bit longer. There is no guarantee for how long your friend will live. Also the question is in what way your friend wants to live or to be remembered. If you think a CT scan should be first and that important you pay for it! I wonder what you kind of answer you are waiting for by doing a CT scan. That it's all in the head? Nothing wrong in the belly? I would say: you better wake up, the change the CT scan will show there is nothing at all is about 0,000001%

IN any situation, life is more important than anything else. Hospitals should be more generous in this aspect, doing a Ct scan before they asked for payment. Hospitals are there to save lives, not murder. If they see profit more than lives, i guess none of them are fit to be doctors. Money will always be there and your friend should really for the the CT scan at all cost

there are lots of ways on helping, since not all of us can help financially...giving support to your friend, by encouraging him on not giving up...finding ways to earn for the amount intended for CT-scan while waiting for the money to arrive...of planning to run a fund raise include your best friend so that he wont get bored and forgot about his situation...then bring him closer to God daily, that would help.and the best of all prayer is the best..good luck and God bless

I see some good suggestions here, like fund raising and working with the hospital on a payment plan. Here we get medical help first and then work out payment plans.
If they have no money, does your country have a public assistance program?

ITs really a shame what the medical profession has come to. They worry too much about money and not enough about peoples lives. What about their oath? They should do what ever they can and worry about the money after. Another thing i dont undestand is medicare. Why is it that so many older people who only have SSI income can not get it? Ughhh!!! This worlds system sucks.

That is so sad. Maybe, you can try some alternative medicine or go to Sta Ana Hospital, for a cheaper operation. There are a lot of ways out there where you didn't have to spend so much money at all. Good LUCK!

I'm so sorry to hear that. This is kind of situation is so sad.You wanted to help but then you don't have that much. You can help your friend by encouraging her to seek help to those Non-Government institution. You can encourage your different to seek help in DSWD, in PCSO and also in a Party list. We also seek help to those institution.

Hello syoti20... I am sorry to hear that, hope she will be alright.
Why they don't try to get any dispensation from the government ar other health service ? Maybe there are some donation for people with cancer or tumor. Try to find other helps from mlm or something like that.
Hope God will send his help to you all.

Hi Syoti,
I see you are from the Phillipines so I'm guessing things are way different over there. My daughter just had a CT scan done. I don't have insurance but the doctor recommened it so it was done. Now I am dealing with the hospital on working out a plan to pay the bill. I haven't yet recieved the bill but from what I've heard, it is going to be huge. The thing is...they are working with me. It was important and it's her life. I'll probably be making payments forever but it is her LIFE! I could not say no to the procedure and neither would the doctors.

You don't have medical insurance in your country. I would think a CT would be a crucial step in find the exact location for the tumor/tumors. However, they probably want to get start as soon as possible and that is the lowest cost. I don't know just a guess. I do know the both CT and chemotherapy are not cheap. Best Wishes to you and your sick friend.

If they are financially broke and not able to produce enough money there is still hope for her since it has not been finalized if the tumor or a cyst is benign or malignant. Your bestfriend have still hopes for her life, she has to think that there is God that is ready to help, because He can make possible even if it is impossible. Just don't loose hope, remind her to pray to God and never give up faith in Him.
