Hi everyone...
I was mylotting and accessing net from 9:30AM. Got tired and went to road to smoke ( i live in village so no public place anymore). Unfortunately, i saw a pet duck laming on the road. I asked neighbors who is the owner? Everyone said.. we don't know. It means that the owner is far long away from that poor duck(bird). It has really made me angry.
If you don't know your pet's behaviors, instincts then you have no right to be a pet owner. If you are only for eggs and unable to nourish them and give them proper treatment then how you can say a pet owner. Disgusting.
How much you are concerned about your pet/pets?
Picture of that poor duck is attached here, just give a look on her leg.
N.B.:- Please don't be irritated with me coz i have started several discussions on animals and birds recently and again today. What can i do, as i cant resist myself on sharing my feelings here(as this is my own world and family) when i see a pet or wild living creatures on torture.

I cannot understand why people have wild animals as pets. Wild animals are to live free. If they are not left in their habitat, they will not be happy. I have seen a lot of shows at the TV avout people having snakes, gorillas, tigers and other wild animals as pets. Sometimes they have harmed and killed either their owners or the owner´s friends. There should be a law aout the kind of animals that you can have as pets.

In my country ducks and chicken (rabbits too) are raised for food. When someone decides to have one as a pet, most of the time they don´t care about the animal as they should.

Actually, ducks and hens are considered here as pets, not wilds but its bad to have a pet some wild animals like you have mentioned... gorillas, snakes, tigers and so on... its against the law and surely an offense. Most often pet dogs are taught to be cruel to incomers which is also dangerous.
have a nice time.

For me my pets are my life. I don't even leave the house just because my pet dog will pine for me. I also have a rooster who is 11 years old who is taken good care of. I do physio therapy on him as he is finding it difficult to walk about.
Why don't you take this duck to the animal shelter or take it home or even contact a Vet and get the duck treated. It is better to be pro-active than just feel sorry.

Thats the good norms to be a perfect pet owner.
your suggestion is nice but perhaps you dont know about village life. If that duck was wild, then definitely i will do that as i have done before but here its impossible. If i follow you, then owner will question on my activity asking my rights. So, no way either.
Have a nice time.

It is good then. You will get to meet the owner when you can offer to treat the bird if they have no objection and return it to them, once it gets well. And by the way are you sure the bird was hurt as that is one style these birds relax. My rooster does it too.

Hello Shibham,
On reading the post and looking at the picture, the first thing that came to my mind was that the owner of the bird must be a heartless person for sure. But on reading the post again I felt that might be the owner had just recently brought the bird and the bird ran away from the owner's yard. May be the owner is also searching for his bird. So don't get so angry on that man. Try to find out who is the owner of that little feeble creature.

Nope, as far i was able to understand that was not a new duck to the family as it was roaming in a group which is a natural scene of my village. Actually, owners are not so concern about their pets, they only seek money. Just the family infornt of my home has a cow and a little baby calf. The owner absorbs (have not found the proper word) as much as milk he can to sell and leave a little for the baby. Then? what you will say about such owners?
have a nice time.

Oh oh! Now that's terrible. It is understood that when people raise domestic animals it is to earn money from them, but then the owners must take good care of them. Clean shelter, good food, love and affection this is something that can please any pet or domestic animal. Now I have no words for such heartless pet owners.

I take the responsibility of my pets very seriously. I have dogs and I love them dearly so it isn't exactly like what you are talking about. If I were to own a pet other than my dogs, their care would be of the upmost important. I agree that before anyone should own an animal, they should understand their needs and instincts. I also think there are some animals that aren't meant to be pets.
I have a hard time understanding how people can take in animals and then discard them so easily.

Exactly, if we dont know how to care our pets, then we have no right to play with their lives for our own entertainment. Yes, i never consider a parrot which is bought only to make it your pet. If you have rescued a parrot and its attached with you, then i have nothing to say.
have a nice time.

Ownership of a pet really comes with a lot of responsibilities. This is what I think a lot of pet owners have neglected. Some feel that it's enough to feed it. Others are worse and treat their pets horribly - kicking them, throwing objects at them. I've seen some pet owners do those things. I like having pets but I only have one dog since I know I will not be able to take care of more than one pet. It would be very irresponsible of me to take in more pets knowing I might not be able to feed and groom them properly.

Sounds good and it seems that you are a very responsible person. Being a owner of a pet is not an easy task, we much have to sacrifice for them... form time to money and if someone does not dare to sacrifice then better to say bye bye to pets, is not it?
have a nice time.

Hi amigo! We have pets here at home, one cat and a dog. They love each other! Honestly,I don't know how to take care of them as my mom and my niece are the one feeding and giving all their needs. I just like playing with them but I hate to see their dirt in our backyard and garden, that's one reason why I don't want to own pets, hehe! But since mom is there, she can take care of the dirt, lol!
We still don't know what really happened to the duck you saw. Maybe the owners are not at home and the duck just went outside and got lost. But I pity the duck because he was injured, poor duck.

I do agree with you that if you are too lazy to find out the habits of your animal, if you are not able to treat it well, you should not have a pet (or more). Also it's my opinion that animals/pets should be able to live their own life. So not be forced to hug etc to keep the owner satisfied (or worser be dumped because it's not behaving like a stuff animal/the kind of animal the owner loves to show off with). Also an animal is no substitute for a human being and should not be there to listen and be confronted with all your animals (also animals get sick of that, seriously ill).
This besides of the fact that animals = nature and you also have to know what to feed and when to give medical help (and the last one not never ending). There is no need to let an animal stay alive and suffer just because you can't say goodbye or to refuse help because you don't find it worth the money/treatment.

Exactly, before owning a pet we should no their all everything... from nature to instinct. I have a cat and although i try to understand him, i find difficult sometimes and as a result he make scratches on my hand or other part but he is medicated and i have nothing to be afraid off. I am attached with wildlife, nevertheless its hard to detect their behavior as locality, season, weather are also part and parcel of the changes of their instincts.
have a nice time.
