Am I mistaken or not?
All the companies I have been working for did not last long, sorry...its not my problem, its the employer problem. He and she is not very willing to communicate better with me, and when he delegates work to me, it seems very unwillingly to do so, and he always throw off tantrum to me, this makes me want to be my own boss. I am searching my way off the office for a long time and now I am on myself. Just now, my brother said he also faces the same problem as me, and he said working for someone else is like that, am I heard it wrong. Is it you will feel better if you know how to polish your boss's shoes?

I think you need to have some introspection and honestly too. If one person does some thing to you it is a chance. If two persons do it, then it may be a coincidence. But if it happens again and again, then a closer look is required at our own actions and how we conduct ourselves.
However, there is one great book which says-only fools work hard for others. But till such time you have not started working for yourself, one needs to work for others.

Maybe because I have depression and isolated, my boss treated me different way from others.

If you are working in a company setting it is always better to be a bit mixing and cheerful. You can give it a try. Depression eats you. Try to get out of it.

I think that is actually a big part of the reason that I've not worked outside the house for the last five years. When I worked at the hospital I really didn't feel like I was treated fairly by my boss and when I left that job, I was completely disgusted because I didn't feel like their policies were fair to anyone. With that said, I think that the best thing for people like you and I is to find a way to start our own business.

well it is really case to case basis. of course it is always better to be your own boss.. imagine you never have to follow anyone's wishes or orders and you get to just be the one to be in charge... however i think it depends really on what you are able to do for your self. owning your owwn business is risky and unless you have a lot of money for the finances you will find it hard to sustain it... whilst being an employee, you know when you will receive your salary, but of course you have got to stick with the budget part.

Hi ChoiYee,
That is true, you have to see the boss "face color" when you work with someone, unless you can become your own boss. Most of the time, people who think that paying you money to work for them, they assume you can do anything they wanted you to do, including reading their mind.
In order to live in the employment environment, you should have a good communication skill and handling stress skill. If you cannot communicate well and do not have the technique on how to communicate, you will be facing a lot of difficulty at your workplace. I have seen many Freshies who were just graduated from University can't even really deliver a simple instruction to the colleague and ended up being penalized by the boss. Of course, if you know how to polish your boss's shoes will be better but for me it is not necessary.

Yes, I pity those freshies though, if their employer gives them chance it could be a success to the company but for me, it is also doesn't necessary to polish the boss's shoes.

HI Choi yee!!!
That is absolutely correct!!We will feel better if we know how to polish the boss's shoes and always, 'yes, boss!' You will not just feel better but they will treat you better as well but the bad is you won;t feel like you are yourself and you just pretending to be someone else. That's why people when they get back from their work they till get off their feeling usually the negative towards others at home because they always feel that at the workplace but they can't let it off..

Yes, I always feel I am somebody else in the office and when I got off work I have to release tension towards my mom. I feel regret too and always apologize to her when I did that.

My current office, is my third one now.
As with two before, i have no match with my past boss.
With this one, i feel very comfortable. Even though sometimes i'm not. But i think it's still tolerable.
So my opinion is, we have to find the 'right' boss for us. Because if we don't, we couldn't give our best performance to yield the best result for the company, and especially for ourselves.

If this problem persists with most of you work with them, the problem is often with you. Employers just want to continue their work on the optimal and profitable way. The problem is how your interaction with those you work with them. Any business needs from us,to know the basics of this work and what is required of us to do. There are a lot of skills should be included in the Staff, they should have the work skill itself as well as the Communication skills.

Yeah, as much as you hate it, you'll hate even more if you don't do as he says. The boss is always right (to him/her) We can't oppose him/her or we'll have a hard time working as that person sometimes bears grudge and some boss don't know how to separate emotion and profession. That's why I start becoming my own boss now. I have enough dealing with that.

I don't want to be rude or hurt your feelings here. I have noticed that you have started discussions about work. Different titles, but few of them are similar.

Hi wongchoiyee, its terrible when you have to work for someone
who is very tough...they most of the time think they are right
about everytime and your input is not accepted to openly..
Its something to be said because you can not keep a job..but you
say its not your problem..Maybe you need to just reevalute your
status at previous jobs..There is something wrong somewhere...
Perhaps when you think back something will come to you and you
will not have that problem with the employees you have..
Good luck in the future.....

Good for you, atleast now you have the freedom to chose who you want to work with. But remember you are now responsible for others.
