I need help buying a laptop

I start college in a few months and I am going to need a good, reliable laptop. What is the best one for a college student? In addition to school work I will do things such as surf the web and hold pictures, but I am totally lost when it comes to electronics! Any help will greatly be appreciated!

the most important thing you should to know is, the budget.
you should make sure how much money will you provide to purchase laptops, then looking for references about the price of a laptop that suits to your money, after that you can choose which laptop to buy.
for me, performance is the important. From several options that match with your money choose a laptop that has good performance.
you can see it from the processor, memory, disk capacity, and the components include (like a graphic card, wifi, bluetooth, etc)
