My computer is so slow tonight...I wanted to get in more computer time tonight since all my kids are asleep but now I am going to have to run a scan on it and clear out my cookies and all to see if I can speed up my connection. I will have to get on Mylot early tomorrow and focus on some dicussions instead of tonight. Does having a slow connection make you stop working on your computer or do you just work through it?? At this point, I dont have anything pressing that will keep me online and having all day tomorrow for computer time will help with running my scan tonight. How often do you run a scan on your computer?? I am glad I can do this now at night so I wont feel like I am missing out on anything. Happy Mylotting.

hey there bookreadermom, In my case my internet is poor but i get my work done in time, my laptop is about 8 years old but with proper maintenance and software updates it is still in tip top shape, so i guess just try to download a program that does everything for you i suggest Tune-up utilities and Microsoft essentials research this 2 it will help you out a lot with speeding up your PC.

I run a scan and do a cleanup. I cannot stand when it runs slow and it takes forever. I hope you get it figured out soon.

It doesn't stop me unless the laptop starts to over heat, or I'm trying to multi-task way to much. Then that's where I end up having the problem. In which case I just stop what I'm doing and give the computer a well-deserved break. If I'm that focoused, that means I'm just overdoing things which in general is also bad for my overall health. So yeah...Then I'm actually smart enough to give both a break... and sleep.

In fact, by the time my computer being a bit slower, I am quiet sure that it's because my Anti Virus is performing automatic update and scan. Sometimes it can be up to 30 minutes.. In most case, I don't really bothered by that. Browsing in one/two tabs or working with Ms Word would be just fine enough.

I mostly used my smartphone to browser and surf internet thus it is not difficult for me as the slow connection didn't botner wnen i used opera mini. Well good speed and no need to worry. I post here in mylot tnrought mobile only. My friend tney connect the mobile to laptop and then browse internet. It is very hard to do ther, slow internet very slow. They wait too much for a page to load. Downloading is next to impossible so it is difficult task to use internet on computer when you are having slow computer.

When the connection on my computer gets slow I tend to get worked up since there is always too many things that I have lined up to do. I just can't get away leaving it. I keep trying everything that I can possibly do to fix the connection and continue working. Apart from running the scan, which I normally don't do at regular intervals but rather when I get suspecting, I clear the browser cache, delete temporary files, empty the recycle bin and even look up for memory overload that could possibly be happening. I keep posing the issues to techie friends because I may not be aware of everything so that in times when the problem aggravates, I'm able to work on different fixes. But if there happens to be a major problem at the service provider's end, I just have to reconcile & wait till the complaint is attended by them.

Hi bookreadermom08, the speed of the internet connection would be extremely slow in nighttime of Fridays and Saturday as well as Sunday morning. I avoid to read and type mylot post during such awful heavy traffic time. The rest of the time it goes really smooth I usually would like to clear browsing and download history, as well as empty the cache regularly, like once a week or so. Lol...sometimes I forget to do this as usual and would do it when realizing that the speed is too slow Happy posting and have a nice day!

every time I online my computer will scan and update automatic, and it just take about 15 until 30 minutes to be done and my computer run fast again after updating the anti-virus. If still slow then I'll clean unnecessary files from my hard disk.
