Well, I haven’t tasted milktea yet but of course have tasted a simple tea. It was shown on TV that a simple tea, was now made to appear & taste so delicious. Milk is added into the tea, plus some fruit juices of your choice too. Plus they would add tapioca and put some sweeteners. There are already some outlets in Manila that have milktea as their main specialty. Well, I guess if I will have the chance to go to Manila, I would surely buy one, so I would know if it is truly as delicious as others would say, because one interviewed person said that he consumes almost 10 glasses of it , while having some transactions with his clients. It costs him almost a thousand a day. Hmm, it really seems to be so delicious, if that is the case.

You are right it does sound delicious, and this is actually the first I have ever heard of milktea. I personally like tea, so this is something I wouldn't mind tasting.

I remembered though, tasting a milktea in a sachet by Lipton. It didn't taste good to me. So maybe, they reinvented it by adding a lot of stuff, thus making it soooo delicious now.

hi fabprecious I check your profile and learned that you are from US. Maybe milk tea is not yet famous in your country that's why you haven't heard of it but here in the Philippines it's getting very popular and you will always find one in any mall. Milk tea is really delicious but of course it depends on each person's preference.

milktea in sachet? I haven't tried that I didn't even know that Lipton has that kind of tea..but we know that teas in sachets are really cheap so we can't expect so much from it..the first time I've tried milk tea is in Chowking they have this so called Nai cha which taste really good and it's quite different from those milk tea outlets that is getting popular right now it's quite bitter and the tea they use taste stronger.

So, does it mean that milktea originated from China? I thought it was from Japan. Anyway, if it is China, then indeed this country is really so good in creating original , not so expensive and delicious foods!

Maybe that's the milktea outlet that Chris Tiu owns with some friends. He said, he really have a hard time for the owner in China ,i think , in convincing him to give him a franchise of it. Hmm, i wish there will be one here in our province soon.

yeah I think that's it..my chinese co-employees told me it's really popular in China and other Asian countries like Hongkong and Taiwan...someone told me every corner of the street you can find a milk tea store, but of course she is quite exaggerating..

Hi! Simply, i have watched that too on TV, and its the craze nowadays, the milk tea. My daughter was the one who tried it first with her classmates in a mall and she ask me to go with her and try drinking milk tea. At first i hesitated because few years back, my sister who was working in Singapore told us that milk tea is better than coffee. One time i saw sachets of milk tea being sold at the supermarket and i tried buying one but it did not taste good. When i tried the milk tea with my daughter at Bubble Tea i found it really delicious. So from then on we kept on going back there to have dinner plus milk tea of course. Milk tea is also good at Cha Time, but i like Royal milk tea and strawberry flavored at Bubble Tea.

Oh yes, i have already tasted one of those that are in sachets and like you said they don't taste good. So, it should be those that are sold in outlets, because they add a lot of stuffs, making them so delicious.

From the other respondents's answers, it seems that it originated from China. But wherever it originated they really re-invented the taste of milktea well. Because as it is, tea is not appreciated by younger generation because it tastes blandly.

well, if you drink too much coffee , i guess you will really have a heart ailment. Anything taken in excess is dangerous to the health. But with milktea, i think it's not, because milk is good, tea is good and so are fruits.

I would sometimes drink tea, in Chinese restaurant, after a heavy meal. But i haven't tried one with milk in it. I think the combination of the taste will be not nice, except when you put sweeteners such as those fruit juice.

i love teas! i love milktea too... and i probably have tasted hundreds of milkteas in every restaurants or kiosks that serves them... and i even tried out some on my own. ha ha so here goes.. and i hope this helps you: nai cha- chowking serves them... you can try them out and its got some bittery taste that i love after all, that is what a tea should be! ;) grass Jelly - try them from Jelly G !!! they serve some really good milk tea and i love the grassjelly instead of the usual tapioca you get from almost all kiosks out there. bubbatealicious - try their macha tea - its really good.. a bit pricey for a small serving Quickly - oooh my favortie ever since i was in highschool, college... and well my favorite is the taro milk tea. Gongcha - this is a very new kiosk/coffee tea shop and i think, its just about the same taste as those that serves them cheaper. Happy Lemon - I have only tried their rocksalt and cheese... hmm not so much a favorite like my friends who are dying to always have a taste of this. ;P i might try other flavors next time. i am still rooting for the Jelly G if you ask me! and of course.. you also have milk teas served in starbucks and in seattle's best. their green tea is not what i expected it too be.. so i won't suggest that one. hope this helps!

I drink them sometimes when I'm going out and there happens to be a milk tea bar close by. Yes, they are very delicious! It's tea but mixed with a lot of things that just make it superb! I usually drink coconut milk tea, it tastes glorious! You can also put pearls in there too or jelly. You can pretty much tell them how you would like their drink and put whatever you like in there. I have seen chocolate milk tea and all these milk teas that I never knew could even be possible. It is very nice.

What's good about it, is that it's a healthy drink, since tea has some good benefits for our health , as well as the milk and the fruit bits. Hmm, i wish an outlet for milktea will be put up here in our province too. But as of now, maybe i could try it at home this weekend.

We add milk to the tea for babies. Tea with fruit in it you can already buy for at least 30 years or longer. Actually you can make tea out of fruit, herbs etc. Nothing new about that. I think the real tea lovers drink all of these kind of teas. I only add a bit of milk to my tea if my stomach hurts and I only have black tea (it also keeps the tea cup/mug way cleaner).

But have you tasted those new milkteas concocted by those new milktea outlets? They seem so delicious, complete with tapiocas or what they call pearls.

I've been seeing all kinds of milk tea all over the Metro and frankly, I'm not all that swayed to drink. I have tasted them of course, but only because my brother and sisters love them. I don;t think they're all that bad, but I think I'd rather have my coffee.

really? I never tried tasting milk tea. You just add milk and fruits to a simple tea , and the outcome is milk tea??? wow! I think i should try that one :) I prefer doing my own milk tea if the price is expensive! LOL :)

Yes, i think we could try being creative with our teas. Just add milk and fruit shakes and you have a nice milk tea.
