Yeah, my isshinryu instructor taught me a little aikido. It seems like a very good art form. It deals with a persons balance and manipulating it. So there are a great many techniques that involve throwing and the like. You also have to learn how to fall (roll) so that you don't get hurt. It's a great thing to learn, trust me! The only thing you should really know is that most aikido learners also study a different art because aikido alone doesn't cover the broad range that fighting takes. I would suggest coupling it with another japanese form, something fast if you are small, or something more powerful if you are big. Drop me a line if you want more info. I can suggest something for you.

Aikodo kick boxing is a great way to enter the world of martial arts. I am into Aikodo for the last 7 years. I hope you will love it. But it is very demanding physically.

i have tried it before. but i had to stop because my female friends don't want to continue it. i still want to do it, if given a chance.
but anyways, it is a nice sport. it demands a lot of physical will and guts. a good way to exercise too. no need to go to the gym if you can master it... better try it... and you will totally enjoy...
