I had heard this old thing which says "a son is a son till he gets his wife but a daughter remains a daughter for all her life". And now that i have matured over the years this seems so true. Once a boy, then be it a son, a brother, a friend, is so caring towards his family even though many a times he may not express it but he has these feelings for his parents. But no sooner does he get married, he starts seeing and understanding things how his wife tells him about his family and then things change all of a sudden. He then tries to kind of protect himself from his own family as if they are some aliens whom he has never known ever. Has anyone experienced the same?

I dont think so,i think it depends on the person when he get married he will forget his parents and no more son to them.I think it will happened also for a woman, but a woman i think always care their parents thats why they say daughter is always a daighter, while man, most of them focus on their responsibility to their new build family.

Yes that is very true to some people. I remember when my hubby told me that he have his first child to be a girl, I asked him why, he told me that, I want to have a baby girl so that when we grow old she will take care of us. LOL. And i said, what about a boy? he said, well, boys tends to be boys and much less responsible. I don't why he said that, maybe he sees in different ways. But i also think he has a point.

of course this is not always true. my hubby is a true mammas boy and now his dad has altzheimers and his mom doesnt drive, he drives them all over the country. sometimes i wonder if he cares more for them than he does me.
