Hi guys,
Hello there everyone, Today i thought that a person is happy because the person wants to be happy and not because of any other reason, I see lots of people on the streets that have no homes or food to eat for dinner yet they are happy, and i know some people that are not happy in there life even thought they have more than the people that i just saw so i guess being happy is a choice that people makes on there own since no one can force you to be sad or to be lonely only your self.

You know what makes me happy? It's money. With it, I can smile all day long. Without it, life seems dull and boring, and all looks gloomy. Money is definitely making all happy. There are also people who can stay happy despite the fact that he or she is pennilss.

I think you have a lot of dough. You travel a lot, don't you? I heard you would be moving to US. That's not possible without it.

There are no set parameters for happiness. For some people pizzas, burgers and ice creams means happiness whereas for others bread and water is happiness because they at least get something to eat. I strongly feel that contentedness leads to happiness. When you feel contented with what you have (be it just minimal) you are happy and when you feel discontented despite of having all the luxuries, you tend to be unhappy.

Happiness certainly rests within us. We just need to learn to be thankful for every bit of joy we experience.

nice one inderjeetkaur,
I remembered the Harry Potter movie wherein harry faces a mirror that will let you see what your heart desires, and then i guess at the end or at some other sequl of the movie he saw only himself that means he is contented and is fully happy and at peace with himself.

I guess it vary in people's perspective, as for me, I can be happy in so many ways and I choose to live with this happiness.. I guess sometimes people don't force us to be sad but they were the reason why are we sad.. so its now their own choice to inflict someone with sadness..:0

Hi there Deodavid,
That is how I think also. My life is not all cushy and wonderful and yet most people will tell you that I am a pretty laid-back, happy person. Why? Because I make a concious effort to pull myself out of any black hole that I start falling down. I force myself to smile at people even when I am not feeling it and to place myself around pleasant people. I'm lucky that this works for me. I think I would be presumptuous and naive to say that ALL people can do this if only they try. A truly depressed person , for reasons that I don't understand will tell you that they can NOT easily pull themselves up once they get down. So for me it is a choice but I do think that for some, it probably really is not.

Hi there sid556,
You are correct happiness is how people just takes on life, even if things get rough you are still alive right then smile, but i guess it is also impolite to impose what you can do towards others all though it is weird for us to see people who cant get up after falling i think we should still respect there interpretation of the world, which is very and truly noble of you sid556, anyway thanks for commenting take good care of yourself.

Well being happy and having the feeling of joy is different. I guess its a choice by someone to be happy because there is a reason to be happy about. That maybe he or she is feeling good for that day or feeling motivated or inspired. When you say that someone is feeling joyful, it is much more than being happy. Because whether you are feeling sad about things happening in life you still have the feeling of hopefulness and there something to be happy about.

Yeah, you're right. We can choose to be happy if we like because it's in our hand. No one can control our feelings if we are strong enough in our mind no matter how poor we are or how hard the situation is for us at the moment. Actually, it's our attitude towards life. Even though we're in the deep water, we can still gain happiness from such kind of experience if we're powerful enough. Believe it, every day is a wonderful day and every day is happy day. Try and we can make it.

Haha I know some of my family like that. I have an aunt (with her family of course lol) who don't make that much money. They look like they need help and they cannot waste that much to have their budget steady. I see them having fun and joking around with each other after my uncle would come home from work. When I was young, I remember sleeping over once and I would see them laughing and making me laugh that I would want to sleep over again. My cousin (again, of course with her family) who makes a couple million a year, and she and her husband find them separate from each other. One is watching TV on the room while the other is on the living room. Their kids are always out and although they don't argue (well not that I've seen/heard), they do talk to each other as if they don't know each other. My parents was like that too, but thanks to my grandma, they change their ways.

hi deodavid you are so right we must choose to be happy or sad or crabby, nobody can make us happy but us. You are thinking straight
on there.I am not in this tiresome retirement center by choice but
I am happy by choice as being sad and bitter would make me ill. who
wants to be ill, who wants to be sad or bitter? also people do not
cotton to a sour person but to a happy friendly likeable person no\
matter the age. elderly people still need to be happy, sour gets you
ulcers and high blood pressure and does not get you any friends. either.

Yes indeed happiness is a choice. One can still be moneyed but sad but there are those who are penniless and yet happy. It all depends on how you choose your life to become... happy or sad. I admire those people who opt to be happy in whatever circumstances. In this world we aught to behave like a child in terms of happiness. A child can easily be pleased and they give out the sincerest and sweetest smile of all. Even when they have just cried it is just so easy for them to get back on their feet and they can even smile again even if they've not really wiped the tears on their eyes. Indeed happiness is easily found in a child but adults can be happy too and it all depends on whether they choose to or not to.

it is. U depend ur happiness with others. U don't say my day is ruined or u woke up at the wrong side of the bed so its gonna be a bad day today.. U can change a sad face to a smiling face. Just think of something cool and be thankful of what u still have or thankful that ur still alive and maybe tomorrow is gonna be better.

Your statement is correct. Happiness is really a choice. It is a mind power. We are the one who control it in our mind of what make us happy. I seen on TV and I cannot remember of what year I seen him on TV, but he was interviewed by the TV host. An old man on TV said that he is single. He is happy with his life and he chose to be single forever and ever. I want to be single forever too -- but I was not quite sure about it -- ha ha

Yes I really believe that happiness is a choice and it is an attitude. If you want to be happy then choose to be happy don't be affected with what other people say to you leave all the negative comment that may change your mood, always smile and the world will smile at you!!! Be happy always!! :)

You are right being happy is a choice, I remember one day I saw a boy with a terrible illness that made his bones go breaking by the time, when I saw him, he didn't tooth anymore, and his back was curve like he was a 90 years old person, but he was always smiling to everybody and blessing, he made understand that we have to be grateful, and choose to be happy.

Yes, you are right, i think people can choose to be happy if they wanted too. There are many thing, small things that can make people happy. I myself, choose to be happy, i try to ignore the feelings of sadness and loneliness in my life. I have no room for that. All i want is to think positive in life and be happy with it.
