A nikon is the best camera (Nikon 1 I prefer). Buy one second hand! I had cheap camera's most of them are broke after 1 year or before the year is over. Esp. if you use it every day. Also mark that the amount of pixels is not interesting at all (unless you print big posters out of your pictures) but the quality of the lens is. Also a good option can be a cellphone with a camera.

They have a range and you should be able to match your requirements and budget to get the best fit for you.
