How to spend your money?

When I graduated from college and got a job, my mom always said:"Don't waste your money.Save your money." So in the first 2 years, I almost saved all my money in the bank. In the third year, I had some savings, but I felt boring. I had money, but I still lived like a poor student,so I changed my mind. I divided my money into four. First, saved in the bank. Second, spent on food(I love snacks!). Third, bought something for my parents. The rest, saved for my travelling. So, How do you spend your money? Saving in the bank? Or maybe you have better ways to make it more useful.

wowjojo, Really good concept to start here.
Its good to do like what you are doing it. Better to divide and spend the money, saving is important because something unusual happens means we can taken from it but don't need to put all money in savings. Enjoy each and every moment in our own way, by spending average amount of money also we can have lots of fun.
Taste everything you like, gifting your parents and dear ones makes our earning a purposeful one. Always carry lots of snacks and eatables which your parents never tasted, is also good thing.

I am currently not working so it is hard for me to save money. I am going to request copies of my credit reports and try to clean them up the best I can so I can eventually buy a house once I start working. I am hoping to file my taxes soon so I can put our return in the savings account. I am also hoping to keep whatever I earn online in my paypal account so I can save it for Christmas. I like the way you have divided your money into four categories. You are doing great.

Wow. You are great in saving those money. I only saved my money through paypal and I really do not want to spend it. The other money that I left is in my bank account but still I do not want to spend it. My money is not enough with me so that is why I really cannot spend it to any those things you have mention even buying a food.

I find it so ironic that when we do have money we can't spend it but if we don't have money we wanted to buy anything that we want. I think we should know how to manage our money enough. After I got my Separation Pay, I invested my money into the bank. I want my money to work for me. I do have some money that is going to spare for my expenses. I bought the one that we need not just the one that we wants.

Saving money for me is pretty hard. My parents are almost the same, but hard because they say one thing then another. If I try to save my money and don't buy anything for that moment, I am considered cheap. My parents tell me "don't you have money to buy what you want already?" If I buy something, I am considered a bad money waster. They tell me "don't be wasting your money for no reason, learn to save it." Its confusing. The thing I try to do (which I think its not a good idea to do) is put my money in my checking and savings account. With the money in checking, I use for my stuff I need (like my errands, clothing, etc) and in my savings is for what I want (traveling, electronics, etc). I also save bottles, and am part with online making programs like this one, and with the money I make (no matter if its a lot or little amount), I give half to my mom and the other is for me. With that money is things I really want to have (and I'll use) but not that important. Lol, I also need some slight help in saving money.

Most of my savings right now are invested in stocks. I know that some people will say that stocks are down, and they are. I am not really making any money out of it, but it is money I put aside that I can withdraw anytime. The rest of my money is in the bank. When I am able to save a certain amount, I would buy myself a piece of jewelry to add to my collection. Buying jewelry for me is also a form of investment and my jewelry has saved me in a lot of tight situations when it comes to money.

I think that it depends what you want from your life, but I am a big saver of money and I always have been. One of the things that I am saving up for is my own home, because I am hoping to start a business of renting out properties to other people. Eventually, I hope that I will have around ten properties on my books, but I am going to have to save up a lot of money before I am at a point where I am able to do that. Therefore, money is one of the most important things to me, but if you're not the same and prefer to save your money then obviously that is something that is entirely personal to you.

hi there...my husband and i shared on our household expenses... we need to pay for our electricity, water and groceries. and its really difficult to save money especially if the money you have is just enough to pay all the expenses.

I have always been wasteful with my money. Until recently I didn't really even know the meaning of saving you could say. I recently split money up in to four different accounts. One is my checking I use for going out and food. The next is my normal savings account for bills. Then I have two online account with high interest for saving my money in so I can earn even more. Right now life feels a little bit boring though because I am saving a lot more then I am spending. It is all good though as it will make it so I can go out more later on.

that's a great division on your money..it's good you save money for yourself and for your leisure..and also you share it to you family as well..me, i still don't have a job, so i'm really tight with how i spend my savings..i don't spend what i saved without thinking a lot of times about it..
