What is it going to take?

I've been a christian my whole life. My dad was a pastor of 8 churches, I have a slew of aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters who are preachers, Bishops, etc. In other words I know CHURCH! But what i don't get about church is why are the preachers preaching to the already saved folk and not the ones who really need a touch from the LORD? The church spends so much time shunning the world instead of following the principles of Jesus and embrace the world. Not to be part of the world but to the change the world for the Glory of our Lord and Savior. I can't even count how many times I've listen to the same sermon...even if i'm @ home or @ a different church it's the same sermon. What i'm trying to say is the authenticity of Spririt has left the church. To many bandwagons in the pews and pulpits. People are more worried about what people/groups are going to say if you preach this or say that. Jesus said that it has nothing to do w/your reputation, your edifice size, or your net worth. It solely and only has to do with saving the world for The Glory of God The Father. The ones who need saving the most need to hear John 3:16, Phil 4:19, Romans 8:28 not the seasoned saints and saved folks who know better and should be doing their part to grow the Kingodm of God instead of their pews and pockets. What is it going to take for the church to get it together and really reach out the the lost? hurt? lonely? abandoned? What is it going to take for the church to get its authenticity back? We need to do better church.

Hi! You are right. People preach in churches because christian need to en fed by God's word. But we must not neglect the great commission to preach the word to all people especially the unsaved. Some commercialize their ministry and forget the true essence of it. Lets pray that we will be able to do what God really wants us to do and to help others realize it too.;)

I couldn't agree with your assessment more. The church has gone down a blind alley and doesn't even know it. Christ didn't say "huddle together" He said "Go." What will it take to wake up the church? Sadly, something serious. Something that will shake it to its core; that will destroy the "business as usual" approach. Something that will shatter men's pride and complacency and will bring danger to all Christians. This is happening in other parts of the world and has happened all through time. Persecution (real persecution, not just name calling by kids) draws on the strength of the Lord and wakes us up to our need of Him. It also makes us realize how precious is our calling. That will save the church, but not in the form we know it.
