A lot of people in the US have probably seen this commercial but I am not sure if it's shown in other countries. There is a commercial for Campbell's Chunky Soup that has it's own recipe. You take the Chunky Soup and pour it over some rice. It's delicious. I just had some tonight and it tastes so good and really does fill you up. The sirloin burger soup also has a sweet kick to it because it has sweet carrots. Absolutely Delicious.
If you've thought about trying it, I say do so.
Anyone else tried this?

I love rice period and I say anything goes with plain rice - hee hee (it's the Asian in me!). Some thick soup over rice is soooooo good - and it stretches the soup into a meal! Since we don't eat too many canned soups anymore, we tend to think they are a bit on the salty side - so eating it with rice balances it out. Easy and quick - I like that!

The point about canned things tasting salty is a good one. It is true that if you do not salt the rice or whatever you put it over.

I remember they had a sirloin burger soup when I was MUCH younger and I really thought the little burgers were dry tasting - not to say they aren't better now -but Campbell's is just too darn fond of adding corn starch and/or oil to their soups making so I can't eat them!

I have done some of this in the past, but not recently. I would use brown rice. I would also try it over a baked potato, or over some noodles. It is a quick way to make a tasty meal fairly inexpensively.

I have been doing this for years. It is pretty good. If the rice is good. I like the tater tot casserole I make too. Who knew such silly sounding stuff would be good. I think that kids in college must set around and try different things they can make for pennies and on a hot plate.

I'm pretty much a vegetarian, so I don't do the sirloin burger. I don't eat Campbell's soup anyways; I avoid most canned soups--most taste bad and are extremely unhealthy.
I have a host of quick dishes that I make in 30 minutes or less. It takes just minutes to cook some pasta (dried or fresh), add a little olive, toss with some veggies and sprinkle with some seasonings. Baking or frying tempeh is quick, too; that can be served on nice, fresh bread (from a bakery) or over rice.

I don't recall seeing this commercial, however it does sound tasty. I used that for a base while making stew. When you add soups as a starter to meals then add your own fresh veggies. Then it turns out really good. I often used the chunky chicken noodle as a starter for my own adding fresh meat and veggies. There are so many things like this that you can try out. Makes the flavor great and I think it saves a little money also. But I am going to try this dish that you have shared.
Happy cooking!!
