Should homosexual be accepted in our society? Based on my personal opinion, id say we should. But, currently, in my country, the society discriminates homosexual. i'm not a homosexual though, but i just feel bad for those people. Well, its not like they wanted to be homosexual. I believe they would want to be like us , normal people. Parents who realize their kids are homosexual, will lock them away from society or force them to be normal( society view )to the verge of disregarding them. Thus those kids would lose themselves will trying to be 'normal'. Imagine going against your hormones. Its tough. Just like forcing yourself to love someone you don't love. That is just plain selfish. So yea. Would you accept them into your circle of friends? Share your opinions. A honest answer please. I will not decrease your rate. Dont worry! Thanks Alot:D

hi Heixyin. in my opinion, discrimination should never be done to any person or any race. we are all human beings created by God with equal rights. some will contest about God creating homosexuals but homosexuals should be accepted for what they are. they are fun to be with and they make people happy even if deep inside their hearts they feel the pain of being outcast. okay, let's accept that not all homosexuals are alike and some mess around but we should be fair enough not generalize them all.

First, I do not think homosexual should be mistreated or not accepted in the society. This is because,we are free to choose who we want to be and how we want to live. The only problem that I have is when the society legalize it and try to force everyone to accept it. I do not think being a homosexual has something to do with hormones but more on how much we are influenced by others and how you were brought up. For an example, a man brought up by a mother who his father was always absent may grow up admiring his mother (role model) which may affect him psychologicaly and wish to be like his mother. The reason why I have said hormones is not the problem is that, most of homosexual are born with all characteristics appropriate for a certain gender and only a few are born otherwise, this mean that, if it was a hormonal problem, then a woman would have been born with man characteristics and vice versa. This is only proves that, only a few of homosexuals are born with hormones abnormalities and most of them decide to be homosexuals just because they find it fun or other people are doing. If they have hormones problem then why do they have to take hormones or go through gender transformation surgery later in life to be that gender that they want? It does not make sense to me and it will never do. That is my personal opinion about homosexuals.

First, you do not have to apologize for anything. We are here to share your opinions and what you believe in and I am happy to give my opinion too. I will still try to make clear to some of your responses found above. When I said that some of the homosexuals may have hormones abnormalities, I was responding to the member who started this discussion since he pointed out that homosexuals usually claims that they have hormonal problems. My point was that, even if there exist a problem with hormones or chromosomes, only a few who have such problem and most of the other homosexuals choose just to be what they want. If you are not aware, how we bring up our children determines who they are when they grow up and can influence how they behave or relate with other people later on in life. My point is that, a man may grow up admiring his mother and wishes to be just like his mother later on. This may affect him psychologically and he may develop a certain hatred towards male gender and prefer acting or being like a female even though he was meant to be a male. In your example above about transgender, those are the some of the few individuals that I accepted and pointed out that they are born with gender problems. We seems not to be on the same path about the Bible. It is hard to discuss anything about it. True, but He creates Men and Women and not thieves, robbers. This are just personal preferences.

I understand what you are saying. I think we are getting off track of the original discussion which is 'Do you think homosexuals should be accepted in society'. Whenever this is a topic it inevitably goes to the Bible and/or if people were born that way. And there's an assumption that personal preference just goes along with being homosexual. I even get caught up in this. The fact is, is that there are homosexuals, people who are born that way. So when the discussion topic is as stated above, my understanding of it is they want to know if we think homosexuals, not people who pretend to be, should be accepted in society. So now I'm wondering, when a discussion like this is started, can people put aside the theories on it, and give opinions according to what the discussion topic asks.

i think we should accept the homosexuals in the society. i think it is not their fault they feel that way..also we cannot force them if that is how they feel about themselves..i think there is nothing wrong as long they are good people and not doing any harm or wrong in the society..it is just that some people cannot accept it because to them it is not normal..i would not have any problem accepting them in my circle of friends,..i think it is fun to have them around especially the gay men..most of them are very funny people..

I don't have any prejudices against homosexuals. They have a right to be one and we should not interfere with this right or freedom. I have many close friends who are homosexuals and have remained so till the present. In my country, many homosexuals have gained fame and fortune. They have gained success and power more than what others have done with themselves. If I were to have a homosexual child, I will accept it as a normal part of my life. Homosexuals have the right to live in this world, a right to happiness, a right to gainful employment just like you and me. Let us not ostracize them from society since they are human like us; they also get hurt and disappointed by the wrong perceptions of people.

I am from the Philippines, a country in Southeast Asia. I have great respect for homosexuals. In my country, there are many homosexuals who have made names for themselves not only in the field of beauty and fashion but mass media. They are better off than those we consider to be "normal" in sexuality. While many still find difficulty in accepting homosexual children, the success and achievements that the homosexuals have attained in society makes others wish they had kids like them. I relate more with my homosexual friends than with others. They sympathize with me when I am down and can provide the laughter when I need it most.

It would be boring if every person was the same. I like it when people do what is right for them if it doesn't hurt anyone. In my home country there are straight males, straight females, bisexuals and homosexuals. Each has the right to choose which of these choices they are. A homosexual man or lesbian lady is totally accepted in my home country. It is a multicultural country too. Of course there are always some narrow minded people that are against homosexuals. A homosexual is a normal person. I think a man "coming out" saying he is gay is very brave. When I was in my mid twenties I became friends with a 15 year old Polish boy. I met him due to a language barrier and he was the only person that spoke English. We become pen friends and he came over to England a few times. He is a very good looking man. He told me that he is homosexual and I totally accept that. Sadly his parents were disappointed and disowned him. He dates a man and gets on very well with him. I can easily be friends with a homosexual man.

Hi Heixyin, Yes, I do think they should be accepted in society. They are getting there. More and more people are accepting them for how they are. I was talking to a doctor today and we got talking about the human brain. She told me that there is a very distinct difference between the male and female brain. I asked about Gay people and was told that in lesbian woman there was not any difference but there was in the gay male. His brain resembled the female brain more than the male.

hello Heixyin, I am not sure what country you are in because I did not check your profile...But I do have an opinion on your question. YES homosexuals should be accepted into society...who are we here on earth are in any position of judge another person...they bleed as the rest of us when they are cut.. I am not an homosexual and I have no problems with them...I believe in letting people be whom ever that want to be being by choice or not.. I have enough or real issues in my life to worry about someone elses life like that...We should treat people as people thats the way I feel... Weather they are born like that I just turn like that at age 12, I don't care...Its their life and I don't have to deal with it...as long as they don't encroach on my life then so be it... Live and let people live...Worry about your life and not about others...

This shouldn't be a question up for debate in ANY modern society. It should always be accepted, regardless of any religious or other preconceptions. There's no reason for it to be an issue; they're people, just like you and me, and they inhabit the same country that we do and abide by the same laws. In the United States, a national Republican senator was recently refused service at a restaurant because he had been saying that gay people are the sole reason that AIDS keeps spreading, and that the word 'gay' shouldn't be allowed to be said in public schools.

People cannot do anything in your country as long as the basis is your religious grounds. If you are 'gay' just keep it as a secret. You means - second person point of view

Heixyin, Yes, they should be. They are people. I think the question should be 'Why wouldn't they be accepted?' If you have to ask if homosexuals should be accepted, then you need to ask if straights should be accepted. Homosexuals ARE normal people. They belong to the human race just like anyone else. You are right - It is tough, and it is forcing yourself to love someone that you don't love. And it is selfish for people to expect them to be who they aren't. I already do accept them in my circle of friends because they are people who are just as deserving as anyone else. I commented on Mashnn's post, you might want to read it. Thank you.

In this day and age, I would hope homosexuality can be more accepted and it seems it is more and more. There are still obstacles I'm sure for some, of them somewhere but at the rate we're going there shouldn't be anything like discrimination anymore. The world is full of much worse things, I like a person on how they treat me, treat their family, their friends, and so on. It doesn't matter who they love at the end of the day.

In my opinion everyone should be accepted. It is not our place to judge anyone for the way they choose to live. That is God's place. Being a homosexual does not make one a bad person. It doesn't change who they are inside. I have many gay friends and I accept them for who they are, just as they accept me for who I am.

of course they should be treated exactly the same as everyone else. I have several very good friends who are gay, and they are no different to me. they are people just the same. I think it's disgusting that they face so much prejudice and hate.

Yes, I must agree that homosexual should be accepted in the society. They are still humans and in the eyes of GOD, everybody is equal. There is nothing wrong of being homosexual just as long as he or she is doing the will of GOD, serving GOD with all his or her heart. Happy mylotting!

I think there is nothing wrong with homosexual. They are humans to and should be given respect. I do not have any discrimination against them. Though I have no homosexual friends considering that most often their friends are also homosexuals.. As the saying goes, birds of the same feather, flock together. What I do not like however, is any person may it be homosexual or not who does not treat other people well.
