Health benefits of beans

I chanced upon some information on beans and wished to share it with my mylot friends.Did you know that beans had many health benefits from reducing cholesterol levels to prevent piles and rectify your bowel system. It is rich and a high source of fibre, rich in antioxidants, lowers blood pressures level, keeps a check on the blood sugar improving diabetics,cures constipation and reduces the risk of many types of cancer. Beans in sprouted form is a great source of protein and is also referred to as a Healthy People's Meat. So you can take the beans of your choice in any form you like for the enhancement of your health right away. Please share if you know more about beans. Happy mylotting.

Hello bewitched, Beans are the rich source of protein and fibre. If it soaked in overnight can add the benefits for sure. But the sad part is beans are costly and common people can’t afford on their daily diets. Recently the cost increased much and I think people realized the benefits of beans and started to use it increasingly (lol). How are you? Take care and have a nice time.

Hi Sreekala, I am doing fine and hope the same there. I know you are having a tough time due to the cold weather. Beans i meant are not only the green/french beans we cook but rajma, moong, chana and other types of daal also come under the variety of beans. So you can have the beans of your choice according to their price and availability.

I know dear, only chana's cost is less and all others are costly. Moong dal is 120 rupees per kg here and all others are Rs. 80 and above....

Thanks for the details, i and hubby professor are very fond of beans, it is a must in our night meal with chapati or paratha, because we both have diabetes, we need lot of proteins, we take different types of beans usually. Happy posting, cheers. Kalyani

I knew that beans were healthy but I didn't know all the details. Thanks so much for sharing the benefits of eating beans. There really are a lot of them. And there are so many ways that a person can use beans when cooking.
