well..i think its time to Man United to change some of the player, although someone like gigs and scholes have a 'central' position and its difficult to be replaced..but i sure they time have come to end..and there are many players could change them such as sneijder and many else..expecially young-energic-players..

The January window has just been closed with no Manchester United signings - just as what Sir Alex had said. That means Manchester WILL buy in the summer. I am sure that we will be seeing at least one world class player joining. Manchester United needs new players as Giggs, Scholes, and Ferdinand are not young anymore as well as covering those injury-prone players like Owen and Vidic.

With the money that Manchester City has, they will only feel "big" when they can have 3 "A" teams playing in Champions League, EPL and FA Cup. Now they only have 1.5 so there is still a lot to do for Mancini. It is unfair to compare Mancini with Sir Alex. He is not old enough.

Yes, they need to renew their squad. I think they have been in the rebuilding phase for the last 3 years now. The problem is that youngsters in the mid field and defense have not yet stepped up to the plate. So he will need to shore up both departments with more quality players or the youngsters need to move up a level.
Cheers!

well..its hard for making a golden generation again like David beckham generation..
maybe need 10-20 years from now
or they began for making a good academy
MU can follow what Barca academy had shown..
now if we want to see the talented young player, we must adopt the management of academy barca

Somehow, Fergie's strategy to compose his squad is amazing.
I just can't understand his philosophy.
Sometimes, Sir Alex looks interested in buying a young player such as Jones and Smalling. But some other times, he would buy Berbatov.
But i think Man Utd has enough young player now. If we talked about Giggs and Scholes, well if they could play for another season, maybe the time will come right for Cleverley and Anderson. Meanwhile, Carrick hopefully still can be reliable. And Fletcher hopefully can be back to squad, too, although we never know when.
So to answer your question, i think for now, better to see the situation until the end of the season. For now, i think the squad is enough.
