These are the people who just by using a few words can influence someone to believe or do something. When I was working at a departmental store one of my colleagues got more than 100 people to sign up for our store credit card. That made him the employee of the month. I believe my dad and sister are also good at being persuasive. People usually give into them. I see it like a gift that not all of us have. What do you think about such people? Have you ever gave into such people?
I usually have a problem trusting others. So I am not easily influenced by them.

I went in a shop to look at new backpacks and the shop assistant was being very persuasive. His sales pitch put me right off and so I was honest with him. I explained that I wished to look around on my own. I told him it was me that knew what I wanted to have in the way of a new backpack. I took a while and then found my ideal backpack which I paid for. It lasted for around 14 years so it was good quality. I took it on my trips including around the world for over 1 year.

That was a funny incident that happened with him. I suppose sometimes it is just better to listen to the customer than getting on with the marketing pitch. It saves everyone's time. I remember that colleague of mine once took 7 minutes to explain to his a family of 4 how the store credit card was going to help. Later they just gave him the most blatant answer which went something like this "sorry we cannot have credit card because we are illegals immigrants".
Do you get calls from marketers who try their best to compel you to buy their products? I have a good way to save myself from them. I just tell them that I am under 18 and that my parents are out. This ends up making them say that they will call us some other day.

Yes, most persuasive people are gifted with that skill. However, that skill can also be developed. Actually you can just observe how persuasive people influence others and notice what they do that you don't (if you're not persuasive yet).
I know its hard to learn this kinds of skills because these are part of our personality and it's not being taught on schools but rather being developed through our daily life. You can also read books about persuasion and influencing people then you will just realize how simple it is but still most of us doesn't know it.

I have noticed that a lot is in how the words are structured. They appear to be more logical and their behavior tend to be domineering. I guess some of us are a bit too passive to try that one out. Sure I can be in leadership roles, but do not find it easy to push people to do something. I feel its better to respect the natural inclination and energy of others.

I think the best thing that you can do is to stand your ground. Don't be influenced by what they are saying. I know that it can be pretty difficult and even I sometimes gets a little embarrassed if I wont do what they are asking me to do or say or whatever.
I personally don't like people who can't seem to understand the word 'no'. It gets annoying sometimes and even though you are trying your best to be polite and nice, they just get into my nerves sometimes.

I totally agree with you. The guy I talked about got multiple no's. But he could care less. Probably, he was doing it because getting people to sign up for credit card gave him the $1 note reward every time.
That is of course a different case. But I know that some persuasive people just need to use only a few words to get a yes. These persuasive people are very diplomatic which is nice.

Hi there
I do admire people who are like that, they are very interesting to listen to sometimes, but it would be depends on the things and the topic they are discussing about for nowadays there are a lot of fraud business. I encountered some of them sometimes, but i will only take time to listen to them in a few minutes.

They are definitely good talkers. But I totally get the fraud business thing. Have you ever been to sites where things are written in big letters and the writer goes around saying how his e-book will change our lives and all? I am quite scared of people like that and tend to avoid them. This reminds me that some people are actually good at making their writings credible through use of persuasive words.
