In 2 or 3 weeks I should be moving to my new place! I Am so excited and already packing [ oh so much to pack and so many things to get rid off] but at the same time I have this bittersweet feeling this house holds so many memories...some good and some not so good over 20 years in this place a lot have happen...like my son 18 birthday...my youngest 21[which were celebrated at home] and all the other celebrations we had here over the years including my 60th birthday!...and the children pets bury in the back yard...and my lovely garden[which I put so much care to build up] now in a mess because I can't work on it. So yes I Am going to miss this place very much but at the same time I Am looking forward to the new place is much smaller with a small court yard where I plan to build a small garden so I can keep up with. I know the memories are mine to keep! but do you miss your old place when you move out?

Congratulations on your move. I know it must be hard to give up all of those memories that you have of the home. The good thing about memories is that you can always take them with you. Good luck with your move and keep us posted about the new place.

Hi!I also miss our old house before we moved at our present home since we were forced to move due to the airport expansion. Our neighborhood in the old house was really peaceful and people their don't gossip unlike here. People look at you up and down. Hmm./ But still I have adopted to this present home since we were here for 10 years.

I have just moved in to my new house too. It is of course painful to leave the house that was my home for more than 20 years. It was a countryside house where I brought up my children since birth. They too were sad that I have to move in to a townhouse where there is limited outdoor space for gardening and for the dogs to play. I am going to miss my mango and rambutan trees. But I have no choice since the kids have left the nest and working overseas except for my little girl who is still schooling. My new house is a little compact but am happy there cos the shopping centers are walking distance.

I am moving into a larger house with four other people and away from a woman that I do not want to have anything to do with any more. The house that I am moving away from belonged to her mother *which she called her ex-mother) and I was paying for everything. That is more than I will be paying because all five of us will be sharing the bills. Even though it is in my name on paper, it belongs to all of us in my heart. I will be able to do things that I could not do in the other house including building a fish room to bred tropical fishes, have a crafts room that also has plenty of room to do everything that I need to do and have plenty of room for someone else to work on their crafts at the same time. The back yard is large enough to have a nice large organic garden which I am not the only one that loves to garden. There will also be room to raise small animals for pets and/or food. I will not miss living in the house that I am moving from.

Congratulations on the move. Take lots of pictures of your old place to help you keep the memories. I know it's hard to move from a place that brought you so many good memories, but those memories will always be there like you said.
You'll have fun making new memories at your new place.

I have been very lucky and do not become attached to places or things, once they are gone they may come to mind but never with regret. This seems to be very hard for others to understand so maybe I am just strange.

Yes I do miss my old place especially the one where I grew up. So far I am used to moving a number of times, I have left a lot of memories and all we think of is that there are reasons why we have shifted and the places we moved into are actually not are own house. Now that we have our own place we are just gonna build new and good memories! By the way, I wish you blessings and happiness on the new place you're gonna live in.
