Two laptops to earn more

I am thinking of buying a new laptop these days. But I am being careful and want your advice. I want a new laptop with a wi-fi connection. Actually there is my shrewd idea behind this. But first I want to confirm if this is possible. My current laptop does not have a wi-fi connection but has a Bluetooth version (v4.31.02.6 (D)). The other version specifies at the bottom is 2.0, 1.2, 1.1. This seems confusing. Which version should I consider this to be? Now the main question for me - If I get a new laptop with a Bluetooth connection, can I use internet on that PC too? Or if that is not possible, and I get wi-fi on my current laptop, can I use internet on my new laptop? Please help me so that I can use two laptops with a single internet connection. If it is not possible with wireless technology, can I get my two laptops connected with a data cable? Will that help? Please advice me how can I go about doing it?

Hi abhi.. I hope you having wifi enable laptop now. And I am sure your new laptop will surely come with that facility.. Now do you know about connectify software. If not than visit this site: www.connectify.me/ (not referral link) With this software you can share any internet connection(via wifi) with other wifi devices.. Means you can use your single internet connection on many devices without any extra hardware. But you can do it only on wifi.. So this can help you.

@akp100, Just as I was reading your first response above, the thought struck me that I don't have wi-fi on my current laptop, our friend venkataraman_vc pointed out that I don't have the wi-fi on my laptop. Is a wi-fi USB device available? I mean I didn't hear this before. My notion was that wi-fi is totally wireless and doesn't come with a USB device. But if it is available, then I will certainly go for it and try to integrate both the laptops as you said above. If that one hardware thing is going to solve problems, what's the problem for going for that? What I want is using the second laptop at the same internet cost as what I am using it now. So, I will be spending the same amount but taking advantage by using two computers.

Oppsss.. I missed that thing.. In that case this will not work. Using this software internet can be share only via wifi... He can purchase wifi USB device to make his old laptop with wifi enabled(like bluetooth USB dongle)... I guess its not that costly.

I can't believe there are still laptops with NO wi-fi capability! Anyway, you can do that I think via cable, if you have know how to connect your two laptops via LAN/wire. You can buy a switch for example. I'm not sure if you can share internet via bluetooth, I think this will not work, I have not heard of such. But, my advice is you go buy that new laptop you are planning to buy because your old one is so outdated!

My old one laptop is outdated ! No man, it is fine for a missing thing like the wi-fi. Anyways, when I bought this one, I didn't know that I would one day need a wi-fi connection. But now that I need it, is also good that I may have to buy a new laptop. I mean, the need to have a second PC is good for me as I will buy the new gadget with more care. Yes, Bluetooth won't be of any use for having internet connection on the new laptop.

I don't know about your place man, but in my place, having laptops with no wifi function is a bit outdated. Even cell phones now have wifi connection, smartphones for example. Wireless connection on the internet is a necessity for people like me who is always on the go.

good day abhi_bangal, a pretty good idea is what you think of. at least when you have two laptops, for sure, you can maximise your earnings very well. but, regarding the matter that is bothering you, that you cannot able to connect your present laptop to an internet wifi, well, if that is the situation, better to buy a WLAN cable wherein it can grasp a wifi signal. i think it is available in all internet shops as this is very common to previous versions of laptop. and with the one that you are planning to buy, for sure, that new one has a LAN card that can grasp a wifi signal so there is no need to buy a WLAN cable for that. hence laptop now a days are built with wifi ready. goodluck to your plan and more earnings friend.

You can slit the Internet for 2 laptops. I would recommend you for your old laptop just a wi-fi stick because than your are able to get Internet around your whole house and with cable you cant sit on your couch or something. But sharing Internet connection through bluetooth isn't the best option because if it work you Internet will slow down very much and it cost much energy (for that price you better can buy a wi-fi stick i think that you can put in a USB port) I hope you will get a nice new laptop!

I am actually using a USB modem at present. So the software is installed on this current laptop and I don't want to repeat the process with the new one (maybe I am sounding a bit silly). As I said in the above response, I don't know if this is right or wrong as I have no idea about this. I would actually be using it only in my room where I exclusively work with my gadgets. So, there is no question of moving around and even I want to, I will carry only one laptop - the current one, as I sometimes need to do. I mentioned Bluetooth just for the sake of letting you know that I have it on my PC and it struck me while writing. I didn't understand - should I go for the wi-fi stick or the USB port as you mentioned towards the end of your reply.

Wireless is wireless.. each laptop/computer that is able to make connection you can add to it. A computer with wifi doesn't need to be connected with a cable at all the connection is build inside. What you need for the head computer might be a sender (or the sender must be somewhere else). My old desktop is connected with a cable at the modem. My laptop finds the connection it self (plus from the neighbours). My daughter her 2 desktops do the same but she bought a kind of usb stick to plug in. With this she can make the connection. My son his netbook is connecting itself too and if my other daughter or friend visit us with their laptop, phone or whatever they can connect to our wifi as well.
