I think men are heavily influenced by the women they see on the internet and tv. I think a man's personal preference can be swayed but what they see as attractive on tv and the internet. I feel that men will agree that a woman is attractive or unattractive based on what other men say. Do you think that a man's "type" can be determined by what kind of women is most sought after in the media?

Men loves to be with a confident woman, they may say they'd like to hang out with hot sexy women they see on TV. I have guy friends and yes they are harsh when they get together and talk about someone. However, they get turned on if a woman is confident. They get intimidated if a woman is smart.

Speaking only for myself, as a single male I am not influenced by what I see on the internet or other forms of media. I understand that all media, including the internet, will show you what the powers that be think is a desirable woman. These ideas are often not realistic and I pursue what meets my expectations. I don't pick my dates based on what others think, I base it all on personality and compatibility. That is an honest response.

I think media has a say in it, but not necessarily ALL the say. We still all have preferences. For example not all guys like the supermodel types that we see on TV and in magazines! Maybe they have another quirk to them - they like redheads, they like bigger chicks, whatever. I think we all have different preferences that we really have no control over...

Hi SonajSr: For me the answer is quite simple. It always depends on the personality of the person. Men or Women, it doesn't matter. Some people let that other influenced their opinions, their friends for example. For example my cousin, is a "she", she let her friend influenced her and she won't date someone if her friends didn't approve him. That's silly, but it's the same situation, she won't do this just because someone told her it was not a good match.

Well, there are men who would still prefer to find somebody else in spite of the woman having all the showbiz looks and all. What determines a man's woman is the common interests and compatibility I guess.
