What do you think about Virgin Mobiles recent decision to slow internet speeds?

I was told they will be slowing down your internet speed if you use the internet on their phones a lot in the month.

Yeah, I heard about this on the news the other day. Although I am not a Virgin Mobile customer and this news does not really affect me, I think this sort of thing is common among cell phone companies. I believe the term is "throttling", but not sure about that. It seems to me that if someone is paying for unlimited internet then they should be able to use as much as they choose without being slowed down.
