I am asking this matters here because i am quite interested to open an online store with a mylotter here. Since i am still a fresh beginner regarding creating an online store, i would like to have some working knowledge on how to begin doing the set-up of the store. Besides that, i would even like to know, we should have what kind of paypal account, in order to be able to receive the fund direct to our account. For those who are doing online business using paypal as their means for receiving money, can you please share your working experience with paypal. Thanks for the help...

Hi myfb
Well, this is my profession. I can help you with all that I know. The first thing you have to decide is how are you going to set up your website. This is essential because there are essentially 3 different kinds of e-commerce websites technically. The first is the custom cms thing where we do all the code from scratch. The other is using an e-commerce Application/framework and the third is Wordpress. The process to integrate Paypal on each of these is different. However, The easiest solution is to use Paypal's own buttons and codes - they can be accessed via Paypal once you login. You should have a business / merchant account with them(at least this is what the book says). On the other hand, in case you are using wordpress, there are plenty of plugins available. And if you want to use a framework, 99% it includes all the codes to handle payments via Paypal and a lot of others.

Good for you, I think it's a brave move to have your own store. May I ask what kind of store it is?
I am making jewellery...one of a kind pieces and I have so much now, I realise I will have to begin to sell it. I was thinking of doing that on E-Bay as I think it might be less complicated. If I do get going, I will use my regular account first then I will check with others, like you are doing, to find out about their experiences. For this I was thinking to use the E-Bay forums help section.

Hi Jlyn
Well, I was a computer trainer for past 17 years. I have been a web developer and professional since 2007. Earlier, I used to have a good bunch of clients but when I fell ill (since 2008), I had to opt for sticking to only a couple. Today, I have one regular client (from UK) and another one local - this local lady is actually a friend of our landlady who wins bids online and also gets clients. When she came to know that I am into website development, things worked out and right now, I have two assignments from her. If they go well, I might have some good work to keep me occupied. Apart from that, I am also working on a website for me and hope to get it ready for launch sometime this month. Then... I keep my fingers crossed, do the Internet Marketing and see if I can re-start on my own.

I'm a PayPal user, but it is my personal account. I use it to receive money, as well as buy stuff.
PayPal has 3 types of accounts:
1. Personal - As the name suggests, for personal uses
2. Premier - Small time businesses
3. Business - Huge amount of transaction volumes
As you mentioned, yours is a small time business, so I'd suggest you get a premier account. As and when your business flourishes, you can upgrade. Thankfully, PayPal provides this option.
Good luck to your business. Cheers.

First you create an account to paypal. If you have an account register it to the site you have been working, example to mylot. If the site you have been working or any that you have business, they sent it directly to your paypal account the money you have been owed. It is a simple procedure.

I don't actually have my own online store, so I'm not exactly sure of all of the specifics of having an online store that uses paypal for their purchases. However, I know that a lot of the scrapbooking sites that I use offer paypal through their zencart as a way of making purchases. In these cases, the products that are purchased are downloadable products and by doing it this way, you immediately have access to your downloads.

Hiya FYB,
Great if you are going to open a store apart from using paypal which is most important you can also make landing pages that have keywords to link to your Store all sorts of things like that to get you plenty of traffic.
Good luck and hope you get plenty of visitors and buyers.xxx

Hiya FYB,
Have you managed to finish your Store then? Hope so thank you for thinking of my ideas but they are really only general ones.
Also hope you have your Paypal fixed up as well to go with it as that is very important.
Also word of mouth gets things around and brings you buyers too. Again good luck and see what happens lots I hope.xxx

I have issues with paypal, Reserve Bank of India, and my bank ...ah well, not really. They are all doing as per the rules. But I truly dont like those rules. I get dollars in one day, and before I realize it is in there, it is sent into my bank account as if I dont really have any other way to use it. :( A bit disheartening. :(

hi there myfb2009,
with regard to your topic discussion, queries like that should be properly addressed to paypal "contact us" page. wherein to that page, they have a pre-answered questions that can somehow help you thru. however, if the question/s you are asking were not yet posted there, you can email them directly so you can addressed properly your main concern. Thus, in this matter, it is best to transact directly the questions or queries to them so you can have a concrete responses. After all, your money and upcoming revenues will be the matter here.

Hi Airasheila, i do planned to addressed this matter to the support of Paypal, in case i am still unable to get the detailed info from here. After all, seeking the knowledge from a much senior ones who have good paypal experiences while doing their online store businesses, is much better preferred. Thanks for your ideas.

Paypal is a site in which a lot of people make use of to make online dealings. I have been a member of Paypal for rather some years now and do not feel sorry it. Paypal is a very reliable and well-established site in the online society. The fact is not all is good in the world of Paypal along with all the immense benefits comes some not so great things as well. The only thing I don’t like about Paypal is verifying your bank account takes up to four days, transferring funds to your bank account may take 4-6 business days. Paypal offers members lots of great benefits but along with those benefits come some jeopardy. An intelligent Paypal user can stay away from being the victim of some scams by reading all the information about Paypal scams on Paypal's website. Paypal will inform you what they will and will not do when sending emails.

Hi, I am Doing Business with PayPal Since 2 Years. I have my own online store of php scripts that is scriptsmentor.com. If you want to start your own online store or something like this, then you have to create an Premier or Business account in PayPal. Because if you create an business account, Your transaction fees become very low. Don't worry, You do not have to submit any documents for opening an business account.
