At my job I realize two of the most things my co-workers are addictive doing, drinking coffee and smoking. I don't do either of the two. I asked the some people why do they drink coffee every morning no matter if its cold or hot outside, some say it keeps them going through out the day and others say its just something to have to drink, like juice. Why do you drink coffee for all of the coffee drinkers out there? I also asked why they smoke. Of course some say because of the nicotine, then some say because the stress they go through at work or at home. I just don't get why you have to smoke outside when its freezing outside. Does smoking in freezing conditions keeps you warm? Why do you smoke, for all of the smokers out there?

You didn't say what your addictions are so we can ask you the same question....I have a very different addiction....I am addicted to paper.....I am a crafter and buy paper all the time...love to see the colors...the feel...love to start with a piece of paper and make something out of it...besides that my other addiction is diet coke....what is yours and how does it give you a kick in life?

I think coffee is not acknowledged as being as addictive as it is. I have friends who began drinking obscene amounts of coffee so they could stay awake long enough to complete assignments, and now they simply cannot function without it. For this reason, I try to never drink coffee so I don't become dependent on it. Having said that, the dangers of smoking still make it far worse IMO.

Caffeine gives us coffee drinkers a boost. But some just like the bitter-sweet taste of coffee. It's a preference similar to why other prefer the taste of milk or juice or tea. As to smoking to keeping you warm, it's probably more psychological than anything else, but we feel it works. Power of suggestion probably. The small flame makes us feel warm :)

Same here Blkqueen, I don't smoke. I think smoking as sort of stress relieve or keeping you warm during cold season are just psychological. They just keep it in their mind. Coffee, I used to drink coffee during break time in our work. But now I reduced it and changed it to non-fat milk for weight-loss reasons. Some says coffee are benificial to health. It contains anti-oxidants, provided they drink pure coffee to utilize the effectiveness of anti-oxidants.

I don't smoke but I do like to drink coffee. I love the taste of it, it helps me start my day and motivates me throughout the day. It's kind of a relaxing thing for me. I also like to drink pop as well. They are the drinks that I like the most.

I don't smoke but I really love coffee. Not just any brand though, I only love Nescafe. If not, I'll just settle for tea, although its effect might not be the same. I don't know about smoking to keep warm. Never heard of that. I don't know why people smoke too. Probably due to the nicotine.

I'm addicted to smoking and coffee. I don't like to drink that much anymore. I used to drink a lot but I guess I just got used to it. I don't particularly like to throw up, because when I drink, I tend to drink a lot even though I couldn't take it anymore.

People don’t consider of coffee as being rather you become addicted to. It is just a drink, correct? In fact, coffee is one of the most addicting behaviors that you can involve yourself in. A lot of people rely on their morning coffee to get them on track. That is because the caffeine that is in the coffee gives them a “boost up” of energy. You must be aware of the risk of addiction to coffee in order to make a good choice when it comes to whether you must drink so lots of morning cups of coffee. Coffee habit can cause you to become wearier than it helps to give you power. There may be a rapid burst of energy, but you will collapse from that caffeine high. When that happens you will sense as though you could twist up in a ball and fall fast asleep. Your brain wishes more caffeine but your body is telling you that it needs to get clear of the addiction to it. Smoking is an addiction which is very difficult to give up because of smokers’ obsession for nicotine. Smokers need for nicotine make them "stocked" to this social meanness. Smokers are addicted to nicotine because of obsession which originates from the brain. Most smokers started smoking moreover through fashion or perception. They set out to discover the 'benefits' of the smokers derivative and through this tentative act got addicted.

Hello! I never smoke in my entire life. However, I do drink coffee just to perk me up. I would say that as soon as I get up in the morning, the very first thing I do aside from doing my personal necessities, like mouth rinse, etc., would be to drink coffee just before I take a bath. This would somehow make my body warm and ready for the cold bath. Smoking for me is a big NO, NO...It is health hazard because I have some allergies since I was young.

Every type of addition is a psycho disease. None of us accepts that he/she is a psycho patient. But in a recent study, now a days, almost 30 persons out of 100 are addicted by some habits without any cause due to only their mindsets. They needs to help of doctors.
