Women are not immune to heart attacks. It's just that men are more prone to it at an early age than women. It's not actually a disease, but it's basically that the heart isn't getting enough blood due to a blood clot. There are a lot of possible reasons why a person could suffer from a heart attack. Obesity has been found to be one of the main reasons so our diet and the lifestyle we have are very important.

Hi Surkharathiji
99% of the illness are not Gender Specific. Today, we are all living with some ailments or the other... and there is no way to escape. You mention women with heart attacks... but havent you read or seen so young kids suffering from eyesight problems, blood pressure and also obesity?
Well, the lifestyle and the current stiuations - pollution, extra fertilizers and pesticides in the food that we take - all of these are to be blamed.

You are right but I heard in TV man are more affected from heart attack than women because women share their stress with others and cry after sharing the stress and feel free so their heart is not fill with tension. But man not shared any stress with anybody so they more suffer from heart attack and I heard specially about heart attack.

Hello chattering box,
Happy to see you back again. Hope your life is going on smooth.
Women are not free from heart attack. They are also prone to heart attack especially after the menopause. Till then women is protected by some hormone. After the menopause the production of this hormone is stopped and there is a chance of getting heart attack.

One of the causes of heart attack is the accumulation of fat that clogs the artery. The accumulation can be lessened by regular exercise and patients should avoid food containing a lot of fat. Stress should also be avoided as it may trigger the heart attack.

Yes fatness is also a reason but now no reason anyone can dying due to heart attack. Stress is main reason the person should free from stress and try to live happily.

Yes. accumulation of fat in the arteries clogs and affects the blood movement. Again it is due to fate, it is due to genes that it happens so. For one person eating sweets, fat etc, doesn't affect. For another thinking about sweets or imagining about sweets itself affects his health.

I believe, though I may be wrong, that heart attack will claim victims, regardless of gender. I think it has more to do with the lifestyle, as more pressure are with the men for their work, thus, they eat carelessly.

Heart ailments may not be gender specific. This should be more linkd to food habits and other things like physical work. The women of these days do not like physical work and are developing sedentary habits. Mechanical gadgets are reducing the the natural work the women used to do before. This I believe is another reason for heart aiments.

This is my observation because always heard the news on TV, read the news paper and observe in surroundings. You are absolutely right now women not do anything by their hand they need servant like old women use to work their own like washing cloth, cleaning tiles etc. then their body was good. Now generation girl or women like me no do this.

Personally, I think a lot of it now a days stems from a persons lifestyle and eating choices. Since there continues to be ao many people now a days over weight and not watching what they eat or their health period you will often continue to see more and more of this all the time. I think as financially people cannot always afford to see doctors and get their medications like they should health is often ignored. But in the case then it comes to Heart attacks etc no one is immuned.

I have heard that this is true also. Here in the UK, it tends to happen in cold conditions and the women do seem to be older than the men in general. I had a heart attack when I was 58 years. The women I have learned suffering are older than that, usually around late 60s early 70s.
Last week I was out in the cold weather and couldn't get warm for hours after getting home. It took me days to recover, so extremes in cold weather do seem to be a problem for anyone with a heart condition.
Stress plays a huge part in heart problems, and unless one is aware of the condition of their heart, he/she would not take steps to reduce the stress as it is a part of life. This is what happened to me.. I had some stress from neighbours and didn't think about my heart. I could have moved house, but didn't want to, thinking I could handle my problems. I did do it after my heart attack, because I don't want another. I practice meditation and have taught meditation, but whilst it will help with normal everyday problems, when there are big issues, life changes are often needed in addition to meditation if you have a genetic tendency for heart problems. _Derek

hello surek,
women like men are also prone to heart attack and sometimes (as per what i have read), their symptoms goes different from the men. they get indigestion and nausea and vomiting without having chest pains like men do. some get mistaken diagnosis like gastrointestinal illness and are released. thats way too bad.
so i guess the best way is taking care of diet and having regular check up. little pains should be minded. we do not know what happens inside our body hence it is best that we see doctor regularly.

I think that the reason that more women are suffering from heart disease is because of the fact that people aren't eating as healthy as they used to do. The main reason is because of the fact that fast food is a lot more accessible now than it used to be. In addition to that, stress can lead to heart disease as well and more women are working outside the home which leads to more stress in their lives as well.

I agree with you that women at this present times also suffers from heart attack. This is the effect of the many technologies, and lifestyles aside from the genetic inherited illnesses. Most women are coming to the point to heart attack prone because of many stress factors either psychological, emotional and even contributing lifestyles that tend to be of negative kind. Factors like climatic changes also may be contributive for heart attack especially if the woman is near about mid and late ages . Aside from the radiations and preservatives foods eaten. So, the best thing to prevent such unexpected heart attacks is to health wise-conscious and avoid those factors that will give heart ailments.

I thought heart attacks were more common in women than men? I've recently lost 124 pounds so I feel like I've cut the risk down a lot for myself when it comes to having any heart attacks when I'm older. However, I do tend to worry and stress out a lot which can cause them just as easily...So I need to gain control of those emotions!

I think there are lots of factors in people dying form heart attacks. One of them is their diet, what kind of food they eat. Some people eat lots of fatty foods. Then there is stress, which is one major factor. And age itself. The older we get, the less we can do what we used to do when we were younger. And some people do not change how they eat, so that all adds up. Then there is the hereditary factor. In some families, heart disease runs in the family.

All people can have a heart attacks. Heart attacks are mostly a result of health issues such as being over weight, not eating right. Also old age, stress as well. We are all human and suffer from the same things there is no such thing as one gender being affected only by something and a heart attack isn't a disease because there is away to keep yourself from having one. Throw working out every day for 30 minutes and finding the right food diet that fits you and your health. The cold has nothing to do with heart attacks its mostly fat reason in the body not saying that a person has to be fat to have a heart attack but fat platelets in the blood stream.

Though stress can exeggerate the problem, it is not the major risk factor of developing heart attack. In most cases, heart attack is experienced by people with a history of coronary artery diseases which is caused by unhealthy lifestyle habits. No one is prone from this disease whether it is man or woman and it all depends on what you eat, and how active you choose to be.
