Has anyone tried out the Skylanders game?

I think it's mainly intended for kids but I reckon anyone can play the game, since when couldn't adults play a children's game? I know a lot of little kids playing that game and it was suppose to be aimed at a young audience but anyone can play. I have seen the gameplay of the game and I would play it, I'm a big fan of Spyro. I guess this new games pretty much strays away from the darker version of Spyro a new beginning as that game was aimed at an older audience as the storyline was quite dark. Spyro was initially intended for a very young audience. But I say go ahead and play the game. But I don't like the idea of having to buy figurines to play the game with different characters.
