I don't know what the subject should be without coming off sounding negative which I'm not. You hear things, read things, see people unhappy with everything. Is life that bad that everyone just seems so negative?
I guess today is one of those days where I'm tired of reading how unhappy people are. Can we not be happy with what we have in our lives???? Grateful that we have a family, a roof over our heads, food to eat and our health???
Why is it that people are so unhappy with themselves that they blame other people especially their spouses or friends?????

every end of the day, i used to do a recap. Sometimes, i get a really bad day. But i think of other things that made me smile.
What i usually do is let it out and find something that would make me smile when i get home, forgive or forget about what happened that made me mad or sad then be happy that am still alive and hoping i get to see another day.

I just feel like people go through times in their lives that no matter what they have, they are going to stop and grieve or complain over what is not there. It's just human nature, I guess. I am one of those who knows that I am bless, but so darn many things have changed in the last 4 or 5 years, that I have to feel bad sometimes. Cheers!

Yep, it stinks when people complain about how bad they have it, just because there is always someone out there who has it WAY WAY worse. But I think some days we let the small things in life - our family, our job, our boyfriends, whatever - get the better of us and let it control our mood. It happens to all of us, we all at some point take for granted what we have. I think it's a characteristic of human beings in general.

True. That's why I only surround myself with positive people. Steer away from the negative. It works for me and it's a simple thing to do.

We're definitely on the same boat here. I'm aware that each of us has problems of our own. I know that it helps to air out these things, to talk about them. But personally, I think another way of doing this is to just really count our blessings and be thankful for those. I mean, for every problem, there could be more than one blessing we've received. It really helps to focus on the positive things in life even if we're surrounded with lots of negativity :)

Nowadays much people already have what they need, but then they only want more and more. Or they want it better and better, but i also do this and i know it is not good. So sometimes i just have to think if i really need something and msot of the time i do not need it. If people just are happy with what they have they will also be happier to life. And blaming other people for things they never did done is never a good solution so i never do it.

I hear ya. It's hard to find people that are truly happy with what they have. It's easy to place blame on someone/something that taking the blame where it belongs.
I hope you are having a great weekend!!

hi knittingpro I think in this modern age so many people have all the various dodads and latest cell phones and all the new electronic gadgets and are thus spoiled rotten. I have not had all these so am content with my elderly computer and fairly new monitor, with my beanie baby collection, with for now having to stay here in this tiresome retirement center. My son and I shared a two bedroom apt till he was laid off, we used all our savings trying to keep up the rent until he could get another job and thus we got evicted. we were homeless. as I was 83 then and diabetic my son was really worried for me as we had no place to stay. adult protective services helped him to get me here in gold crest.its better than living on the street and being despised by people who were once my neighbors. so here I am .he is in a room shared by three other people so he can be closer to his job. He comes to see me each weekend as he and I are our only family. lol lol.

People "want" all the time. I wish more people could be content with the simple things. You do what you have to do to survive in this world. You raised a great son to have looked after you. You a great mom to give him the support he needs/needed. I don't understand why your neighbors would despise that. I have I have the same support from my kids when I'm older. You are truly blessed to have one another. You are a lucky lady despite any hardships you endured. Your story made me smile. Thank you and I hope you have many more happy moments with your son.

People are not satisfied anymore. Society has changed us to be always striving for bigger and better. But we need to stop and smell the roses. Always remember that what we have many people do not. What we go through people are going through so much worse!

You are correct. When people always complain about their spouse, their kids, jobs, etc. Think about not having those things in your life. It's the constant complaining, putting people down, blaming others and not taking any ownership is what bothers me. It is not always one person at fault. My life is far from perfect but I look at all the good that is in my life. I could complain about being out of work and things like that. I know in time I will find a job and things will get better. I just choose to have a positive attitude about it.

I think it may not be that "everyone" are complaining. It has got to do with the fact that what is negative gets more attention and is "reported on" in the media. One other contributer to this perception is that those who are unhappy expresses themselves more than those who are happy. And lastly it depends on what the atmoshpere is in the forum or newsgrioup etc that one reads - if it is a "find me a solution to my stated proble atmosphere" what else can be find more than people expressing their proble/troubles? My 2 cents worth. cherio

I agree. People have to get it off there minds and put it out there. I had a couple of friends on here that were posting negative comments all the time. To fix that I deleted them so I didn't have to read it. I like responding/post only to things that are more on the positive side.

some people are likely feel lonely, hopeless and empty most o the time even though surrounded by wealth. this type of people does not feel satisfy because they are missing something in there life such as love, the presence of loved ones when the other die, so this likely cause a lot of loneliness which could lead to depression. on the other had they are people who could be happy with less wealth. when they become contented and live simply and become happy with out taking ambition to live like what other do. they are simply unique.

I know some people are just plain negative. No matter what is going on in their lives they find something to complain about. Here is no different than in the real world. People need to think of all of the good in their lives and focus on that. Sure we all have problems but I was referring more to a few people always posting about negative topics going on in their lives. For me that is draining.
