Yesterday was my first time to join a run for a cause. It was coordinated by Philhealth or Philippine Health Insurance... our company asked all of us, their employees to join. ( The company paid for the registration )
Since it is a race.. called Philhealth run, the first one to reach the finish line of course gets to have a price. But then i really didn't have winning in my mind for i know i am so physically UNFIT. lol. Unless you count doing the laundry, cooking and cleaning the house an exercise
I know we all signed up for the 3k distance but when the day of the race came, we were all in the 5k!!! horror! I do not know if i can make it but since no one registered for the 5k ( and our Operations Manager is the wife of the head of the Philhealth here in Zamboanga, she managed to transfer us all in the 5k) lol. It was great though..sweating. I ran and walk..so i could finish the race. I may not be the first but it was something. I didn't know i could make it but i did. It was an achievement!!! Plus we started at 5 am in the morning, the morning breeze was soooo great.

Nice to hear that you joined a fun run for a cause and enjoyed. It is fulfilling to join activity like this.It is also a great way to be healthy.I guess you should join some fun run for a cause more often cause it is a great feeling to run together with other people that you don't personally know for a reason and purpose.

Sorry, why did you call it "run for a cause"? It was great to participate in it. Did you ever run like that before? It surely was painful the day after. I do the jogging everyday at slow speed of course.

These fun runs are really great. We not only get some exercise, we also get a chance to help some people. And the atmosphere is very festive. I've also had participated in a few cause-oriented runs and like you, I had to walk and run just to finish. We're actually participating as a family now. My son's school is very active in sponsoring runs for a cause.
