is winter-swimming good for women?

i mean swimming in the river or lakes not in hot spring or 37celcius swimming pool. i watched some professionals from Wuhan winter swimming group swimming in the Changjiang river,they started from the long beach while i was taking a walk.i found three of them are women.it's only 1celsius!i know there are experts at it,but is it good for women? women needs to keep warm in winter,especially your on bully,if not ,it 'll influence on pregnency and easily getting ill~~ i grew up in a city with 2 rivers pass by and many lakes,i love swimming,good at it ,but only in summer~~ what do yo U think?
