Do you prefer to go online or offline ?

Hello lotters.... Do you have Facebook account ? (such a silly question). If you have lots friends, do you prefer to go online or offline in the chat ? 
I always stay offline while I am on Facebook because I don't like getting so many chats, I can't be focus with my conversation on my page when I have chat, so I better disappear from the chat. The most wicked thing I always do on Fb is go offline without saying bye to the chatter box 
. I wish the chat can be shown to some friends only, it is suck when you don't reply to some chats and they start saying that you are arrogant. Do you think it is better to have conversation on chat or page ? Share your thought :) and happy mylotting.

Like you I stay offline on Facebook, I also don't wanna be called arrogant or something when I wasn't able to reply on chat messages. although there are close friends that I chose to be online there. They are the ones who can understand me whether I replied or not and won't feel bad about not replying on them instantly.

Yes of course you could do that. This is what I have been doing for the past years. I am visible only to close friends and those I chose to be online with. For people whom I am friends for the sake of games and other acquaintances I have set myself invisible.

I have. But most of my FB friends are my friends in real world. But I do not really chat with them online. Only several times when it is really needed to chat online.
If you have private chat, use the chat box or private message. Not the wall which everyone can see. Unless you want to announce something like "my baby already born healthy", just like that.

Hello micro :D. Yeah it is good that most of your them are your real friends, but I dunno why more than 75% on my friend list are not my real friend in real world. That's why I always get spam or flirt chat and I hate it all the way.
Yeah I know but I seldom to write on someone's wall if they don't start it first

I always stay online, but I sometimes don't respond to the chat. LOL I sometimes say later that I wasn't by my computer.

i think i activate my online chat
but sometimes i leave my laptop
so when my friend asked me by chatting and they did not get my replied, i will respond eventhough they had log out
there are bigger different between chat in MIRC(several years ago) and chat in facebook now
if you are talking about the chat in MIRC, there are unwritten rule or the etiquette about the way of chat in MIRC...

. cz they get less flirt chat and there are no bad guy that sometimes like to spam your chat like crazy. Facebook always makes change to the chat, sometimes I don't even know it bcz I never set it visible and check the setting.

Nice I also Prefer to offline, because we can't able to concentrate on the Page wall. My opinion if we chat with friends it's not able to viewed by our other fellow Friends. It's best way to Share the things to Everyone, because It's a Social Networking site. So i Prefer chat only for Confidential Secrets only.

Ask for having a Facebook account is not silly question as most us now get bored or might not want to have facebook. There are many friends of mine who didn't even use finternet then facebook is out of question. Also there are many friends they deleted thier accounts. Also to plus facebook there are few idiots offcourse my firned swho make fake accounts(most of them of girls) to tease other and have fun.
I rarely use facebook. Only when i had to share the blog url on facebook. When i freind want to chat i go ther and have a chat but i didn't last long. I didn't go ogffline.

Yeah, I know some people get bored with Facebook but there are more people that still exist in Fb. Ahh I hate fake accounts, no matter girls or boys they use it not in a proper way.
It is good that you use the benefit os chat box for good

My chat is always on, but very seldom does anyone try to carry on a conversation. I would probably turn it off if I was. I don't have a lot of friends on there, so not many to chat with.

I guess it depends.In MSN your can goes invisible, i wonder is tat a feature in FB chat when your can go invisible, sometime the FB setting is numerous and cofusing which your can set many things to private and only certain frens can see u online and such .Personally i don reply if i am busy and my friends also does the same , no hard feeling , no reply mean unable to reply due to busy or not available.ahah.

Hi kukueye... Yes I know, I just checked the setting on Fb chat and I can be invisible to some friends, but the matter is I want to be invisible only to 95% of them and just chat with three or five friends and I have to set invisible one by one to they who I don't want to talk to

i set my chat online. because sometime my friend contact me via chat on FB, not just ordinary contact, well, it more cheap than use handphone, for me and my friend.

yup, sometime we make plan for next day via chat box. sometime adhyzz remind me to response discussion in mylot via chat box. it really useful for me. some tool more useful depend on us.

I prefer offline, same with you. 
I also don't like chat using FB. If i want to contact somebody on FB, i prefer the private message.
If i really want to chat with somebody, i prefer YM or Skype.

I'm always offline in the chat box when I logged in on Facebook. I really hate that someone is disturbing me when I'm online and I find Facebook boring.

I prefer and used to be offline in Facebook chat to avoid distractions on the things that I do and updates that i read.I do go online if I'm want to see a friend that I wanted to talk if he/she is online too.

Yes this is what i do. When i log in my Facebook account to check updates from my friends, i stay offline to save my time from useless chatting. I just take out 5 to 10 minutes a day for Facebook whereas chatting has no end so its better to be offline.

I'm usually online and don't get many chat messages, unless it's something that I deem important to respond. Other times I'll be offline as well to avoid me having to say to myself, "Who are you and why are you talking to me?" lol

Hi Johnson...aww most guys start the conversation first, and girls respond it. So it is not weird that some guys seldom get chat . So if you don't start a conversation, your chat box will keep quiet till someone really needs to talk to you start the conversation first
