How can you be assured that the information you get on the internet are valid, reliable and accurate? Usually, I look at footnotes. And sometimes I use wikipedia as reference to my articles. However, I noticed that most info posted in it were only contributed by members. So, what other means can you use to determine the validity of information over the internet?

It depends. Usually .com sites are more reliable as to get a domain name, you have to pay. But then again, there might be scams. Go for more trusted sites such as Wikipedia or so. Howeverr, if you find the information unreliable, check other sites.

Thanks Heixin. That's a good idea. Paid websites by corporations can be a good source of information. If they posted info that are not reliable, it may cause them loss or they may not achieve their goal online. Have a nice day!!!

I was thinking of finding tips so we can immediately process data that are online. You can easily get lost or think that everything online is valid and reliable. For example, articles released in yahoo voice can bee very reliable because they have a strict policy on articles posted on their site. Helium also is a nice reference and studies with footnotes and were submitted on institutions or universities. Can you add up to what I have mentioned above? The purpose of this is to provide education on how to actually we can filter information online.
