I did an internet search for getting rid of fruitflies and then did my own re-

search. Supposedly vinegar with a drop of dishwashing liquid was the best with a sandwich bag with a hole poked in it over the top of a glass jar and a rubber band securing it. I suppose if the dishwashing liquid smelled like lemons, it might work, but mine smelled like flowers. So strongly it negated the vinegar smell. I found the glass jar, vinegar in it without dishwashing liquid, and the sandwhich bag with a couple of toothpick holes and secured with a rubber band worked for a while. All the ones that were suseptible to vinegar died in the first week. I emptied the jars and tried again. No more would go into those jars. I threw away a not very well cleaned yogurt container. They were all over that in the garbage. So I got some more yogurt. After you put a spoon in the kind made here, it tends to separate. So I poured off the liquid into the jars, covered with plastic wrap and put a couple of small holes in. So for another week, all the ones that liked yogurt died. They must have laid eggs because I saw some more a couple of weeks later. I find one week of vinegar and one of yogurt liquid works really, really well. So ends my murdering fruit flies report. So have you every had fruit flies? Have you had a hard time getting rid of them? What did you use? I had used a commercial liquid before but I thought there had to be a better and cheaper way. If you had fruitflies would you try the above? Have you already tried similar? If none of the above applies to you, then what problem have you had that you applied internet research to? Did it work? Did you have to modify it so it worked better?

Sounds like you have had quite the bout with those little boogers. I have heard that if you use sugar and water they will come. Maybe that is those little ants I am thinking of but I know it was for one of them...maybe both. I have seen a few fruit flies during the summer but I usually don't keep the fruit around long enough to have them get fed well enough to stay...I love fruit

I love fruit, too. Bananas seem to have fruit flies a lot. If I buy more than one, I have to make banana bread. More than one banana binds me and even one gives my husband the trots/runs/diahrea. But banana bread negates that. Besides, I can freeze the banana bread. Take care.
