PR update to my blog

Hi mylot friends, my custom blog has got an update of page rank yesterday. After customized my blog from blogspot to Dot Com, the rank decreased to zero.This made me sorry that I have done a mistake spending money. But when I got a sudden jump from zero to PR2, I really enjoyed it.Hope that many of you may got the same up gradation.Share.

If it was PR2 before the domain change, it'll be PR2 after it - the search engines just take a bit of time to realise it's the same content.
My personal blog's static at 2 but I was surprised to see that my new half-hogging blog's hit PR1 - I only started it at the beginning of January! Really pleased with that.

To be honest, you're better off focussing on traffic than PR: Page Rank is simply a measure of perceived importance. Consequently, it will rise as your traffic grows (though it's influenced by other factors, including backlinks and so on), all other things being equal.
If you're blogging for money, you're better off with high traffic than high PR (though the two usually go hand in hand).
My half-hog blog gets about 10 hits a day, I think, and is still PR1... which shows how unimportant PR is. My personal blog gets about a thousand or two a month at PR2 (but isn't monetised). Both rely entirely on quality content, reputation as a "thought leader" (someone called me one but I have no clue what if means... I assume it's a compliment) and absolutely no SEO because I can't be bothered with it.

I agree that PR does not talk of traffic. But for me PR is still important because without this I could not get any paid reviews.

You have to visit others blog and make comments. Most probably there may be a reciprocation to your blog also.People will comment on your blog. Your traffic will increase. Do all other seo practices like pinging, submissions, bookmarking etc. It is a long process.

It good to see you that you upgraded to .com domain from custom blogspot domain. I too wanting to upgrade my blog to .com domain. I might want to get it soon.
I think the page rank is determined by the site contents and the links within the documents i mean the blog and the external links as well. So if you got upgarded then you might have to get external links for that so it likely dropped. I am not master of SEO so can't predict much i know it all the play of baclinks. I hope i might get too many backlinks.

My new blog which is 2-month old jump from 0 to 2. This is an achievement for me. My finance blog remains in PR 1.
