Why do I do it? At tea-time I made two huge cheese and tomato puffs (one for John, one for me) and they're filling in themselves but oh, no, I just HAD to eat a bag of XL Cheese crisps PLUS a bag of maltesers a few minutes ago. Later on I'll be washing all that down with my "treat" i.e. two cans of Holsten Pilsner lager. At least I only have 4 of those a week but I WISH I could stop eating junk. No self-control, that's my problem. What's your excuse?

We started back on the diet on the first. We are doing pretty good, tho I've had a couple of times where I didn't get a bite mid-afternoon and I could tell my blood sugar was low by supper time. We weighed on Saturday morning. We are going to weigh every Sat. morning - weighing every day isn't a good idea. How do you make a cheese and tomato puff? it sounds yummy!

I bet you could put this on a regular pie crust. It sounds good. Like a calzone.

oh man! all the puff pastry I can find have corn starch in them! But they sound divine! Never liked banana bread/muffins and really don't like bananas at all anymore... but jam muffins - those sound good... too bad most muffins have baking powder in them...

Rolled out some ready-made puff pastry, smeared some tomato puree over the two halves, score the pastry with a sharp knife from about 1cm in, grated cheese on each one, then topped them off with cherry tomato halves and mixed herbs..and yes, they ARE extremely yummy! Earlier I made some banana muffins and they're awesome as well. Because I've got nearly a full jar of jam I've found a recipe for..er..jam muffins, so I'll make those tomorrow. If I've time (after cleaning up) I'll try to make some more Oat Biscuits and Marmalade Cake! Phew!

Hi, i can't control myself from taking sweet things like candies, chocolate and cookies. I am so fortunate that i am hardly to gain extra weight but i'm still afraid that it might get me dangerous diseases like Diabetes, cholesterol, etc. Don't be like me and don't continue your habits, otherwise you might get sick. You can change your habits to eating salad, fruits, etc.

I'm going to use up my bananas in a recipe I've found. I really should've eaten them at the time but at least I've found a use for them. Still got some apples too so I'll definitely eat one of those later.

I made my banana muffins earlier and I must say, they're a lot tastier then the junk from shops, so I'm onto a winner there!

It is hard to have will power. You need to keep healthy things on hand and fill up on them first. I know that some things that I really crave if they are in the house, so I do not buy them. Like cookies--you would call them "biscuits". An open package is just a sure invitation to overeat for me.

I know what you mean. Whenever I make my own oat biscuits (as an example) I only make 12 but they're gone in no time. However, if I made more they'd go the same way so I suppose it's good that I limit myself to 12. I don't eat ALL 12 you understand..just feels like it! At the moment I have a tub bulging with home-made banana muffins and to use some jam up I've made some er..jam muffins as well. The banana muffins are very nice but the Jury is out on the texture of the jam versions. Mind you, I was multi-tasking at the time, so it's amazing I managed to make them in the first place!

I don't eat too much junk, beacuse i don't really have a taste for it. I think I'm very lucky there! My weakness is those boxes of little round savoury biscuits, though i tend to only open a box when my other half is around and can make me a nice dip for them.

I love those savoury "thins" that M&S sell. Mum bought some over Christmas and they didn't last very long. Gorgeous things, they really are!

I have the same problem. If it's in the house then I will eat it. Right now sitting in & above our refrigerator is all junk food. My husband is talking about getting a BowFlex machine where we can start working out to lose some weight. I'm all for it, but I told him that if we are serious about losing weight then neither of us will be bringing anymore junk food into this house. I know if it's here then I will eat it, so next time we go shopping no junk food!!

I know what you mean. We have a shop nearby and it sells allsorts of food that isn't good for you. It wouldn't be so bad if it was a greengrocers selling fruit, I'd be sooo healthy if that were the case. When I go to Mum's next week I shall use her weighing-scales (we don't have any, conveniently) and I'll be amazed if I haven't put the usual winter puppy-fat on!

A little of what we fancy etc. so long as you don't overdo it. Although two cans of lager at any time would not be my choice. I am a bitter boy. Real ale for preference. I had a slice of lemon tart with a teaspoon of cream tonight. Big mistake. I am suffering now. Tasted good though!

God, I love lemons! Got a new supply of them but I still haven't managed to make that lemon meringue pie I keep promising myself! Wow, how unusual, a guy from darn sarf liking real ale. Good for you! John drinks John Smith's or any such bitter..but he doesn't drink in the house. His folks seem to think he does, however and keep buying him cans of the stuff. Does my head in 'cos it always ends up down the sink. I keep telling myself that Pilsner lager has fewer calories in it than the chemically stuff and I actually eat less when I drink more. Funny that. I also don't eat when I'm out. When we came home from seeing Magnum in December John was dying to "go for a kebab" but I talked him out of it because he tends to have it without any salad and it turns my stomach even more than crisps and maltesers mixed together!
