Buffon, the best goalkeeper of the 21st Century

I have read that Gianluigi Buffon was selected as the best goalkeeper of the 21st century based on research from
IFFHS from all over the world includ average monthly rank on their club.
Button has 199 points,slightly above Cassilas who has 197 and third postion Petr Cech who has 154.
Here is the complete top 20 goalkeeper from 21st century:

What do you think of this list? I think some of the name should be in the list,like Peter Schemeichel and Pagliuca..how about your opinion?

For those who looks for Schmeichel and Pagliuca, maybe you guys should read the title: it's 21st century. Means it take the year from 2000 - till now.
While Schmeichel, AFAIK, is retired in 1999 (after MU won the Champions League).
So it might be the reason he was not included.
For Pagliuca, i forgot when he was retiring, but maybe far before Schmeichel.
Although in my opinion, this list should not be released yet, after we reached the 22nd century (that is the year 2100, if you live long enough to see the list 
). Who knows, they will be some other goalkeepers who will be better than those who on the list.

why Markus can`t be in the list eric?? any special reason for it?

Well, that was good observation eric… I just cross checked with other goalkeeper who are in the list like Fransesco Toldo and Barthez, I think they also came exactly at same era with both Schmeicel and Pagliuca..Maybe I am wrong and they have retired but could be right as well.. Yeah, maybe Markus horizon can be in the list..for Indonesia or south east asia only …I don’t think he is better than any other goalkeeper in this region, but still one of the best I think. appreciate your response..

Well, you are absolutely right Ram…I have observed something wrong with the judgement..Kahn was definitely one of Germany best goalkeeper and could be better than Cech with his funny helmet and Der Sar..He is not only good goalkeeper but also has really great leadership and one of the best captain in Germany national team and Bayern Muenchen… appreciate your response..

well, you are right.. I think there will be subjective judgement on this list..maybe they should have pool from football fans from all over the world …To be fair, the audience who only watching from television like us, most probably will be more fair than any body who definitely select the ones from their own country…How about Asian goal keeper? The south Korean goalkeeper in the Korea-Japan world cup? I forgot his name… appreciate your response..

The problem is that it´s the best goalkeepers in 21st century,so the really great goalkeepers from the past were already no long playing or already too old and not so good,but it´s strange thjey included barthez.I don´t think abbandonzieri is a so good goalkeeper.I think that nowadays there arent so good goalkeepers as in the past, when we had Preud´Homme,Schmeichel,Dino Zoff,Dasaev,Yashin,Thomas N Kono.

Well, you have good points, that was the reason I also questioning about Pagliuca as well as Schmeichel..that’s the right spell I think.. haha..
Many goalkeeper from 21st century then..if take longer we may will see like you said N Kono, Zoff and also many more from Colombia Higuita and do not forget peter shilton..wow, I think its way too long already…currently I think many good goal keeper as well should be in the list..appreciate your response..

Well, you are right.. I have not commented about Buffon yet…Yes, he is really talented and goalkeeper with superb reflect.. I remember when he made a tremendous save many times in both Italy and Juventus..He is also very loyal to his club and can be one of the example for others..Buffon was the only goalkeeper that won best player of the year in the recent years….I think he should be one of the Italy goalkeeper legend besides Dino Zoff and Pagliuca…again I love Pagliuca too… appreciate your response..

yes Peter Schemeichel and Pagliuca be include in the list. because, in my opinion they are the legendary goalkeeper

well, you are right.. I think both of them are great goal keeper… I remember schmeicel has advantage than any other goal keeper since he able to score a goal…usually during injury time, if Man United has a corner, he will step forward and with his header score a fantastic goal…Pagliuca has really great reflect and very talented goal keeper…If Toldo mentioned in the list, he should be there since both of them came from almost same time frame….Hendro Kartiko..come on my friend..maybe his hair style is one of the best..just kidding..haha appreciate your response..
