Our entire house is really happy today because my mother passed her test today and she is officially a US Citizen! After more than fifteen years she can officially say she is a US Citizen and she is really happy. She spend many hours studying and it all paid off.
Although she did pass the day started off rough for her. Since we live in NYC the place where she was supposed to take the test is around City Hall, which is where the Parade for the Giants ended. The place was packed! Her appointment was at 10:30 and she got there really early just in case but it was 11:30 and she still couldn't find any way to enter the building because the police had the block where the building is located barricaded. They finally let her and a group of other people that were there to also take the test up at 1:30 and they were able to give her the test.
All in all she's really happy and everyone is proud of her.

Congratulations to your mother! At least after all that hardships, she got what she wanted! Woohoo!!!! It's just like what they say, after hardships, there are gains.

Thank you secretbeat! After many hardships there are definitely gains, and this is just the beginning. I'm starting to feel like this year will change our lives for the better, not tremendously but at least a little bit. Happy Mylotting!

At least there will be change! Even if it's small if it's impact would be positively great in the long run, then it's good!

Excellent and congrats!
That test is supposed to be really hard and a lot of Americans couldn't pass it. How wonderful!
I bet you're all smiling!
I know how packed a place can be. I was in Lake Placid in 1980 when USA won hockey. Building and people and nothing could move.
Continued happiness to you all and to your newest citizen.
