After Sendong, an earthquake hit...

Philippines
February 7, 2012 11:47pm CST
Tragedies and calamities come and go and leave unwanted results - homeless people, orphaned kids, and dead people. Sendong has done so much damage causing the entire nation to grieve for the deaths of so many people. Now, an earthquake with its aftershocks are terrorizing people, killing a hundred or more. It's so devastating. Are we being warned? What do you think? If it happens in your place, are you ever ready? Just thinking about it gives me panic attack, whew!

Oh yes I really fear whats happening in our country. It seems that calamities are just rotating in differrent parts of the country. From Luzon to Mindanao and now Visayas. All we can do is to be prepared and pray. We must pray hard that those places that were not yet affected by these tragedies be spared.

Right. We really need to pray that God will bless the Philippines and will spare it from disasters. Thanks for sharing, bing28!

I heard about this too- I have not felt any since most of the effects were in the Visayas region where my family is.. They felt it, but good thing it was only really little and did not damage anything.. Unfortunately there was this guy on a motorcycle spreading that there was tsunami which made many people run for their lives..I hope they catch the one responsible..

Although damage wise Sendong still has made a lot of damage to our country, this earthquake has also hurt many and made a lot of people in fear of what it caused them. I feel sorry for those that have lost lives in this natural calamity. I guess it took us by surprised that this new fault line was not detected by our local geologist. I think one of the most hard thing to predict from coming in is Earthquakes.

Right. I wish just like the typhoons/storms, earthquakes can also be forecasted so that people will be forewarned and lives will be saved. Thanks!

so far i have not experienced an earthquake like that intense as what recently happened to negros oriental..it is normal to be panicked at that kind of situation..negros oriental has a lot of faulty lines as revealed by phivolcs so there is a possibility that an earthquake can strike in the future..we just have to be ready all the time.

Unfortunately there are some countries in the world that due to their natural and georgaphical position are suffering from natural impacts and disasters.Fortunately in my country we have not ever encounter such terrible events and i feel rather lucky about that. I feel so sorry about all these people who apart from being poor they have to deal with these catastrophies too..So bad for them..

Well, you're lucky indeed to have not experience that in your country, and I hope you won't ever. Yes you are right, it's too bad when most of the affected or victims were poor. It would be much harder for them to move on after. Thanks, parascevi. Happy mylotting!
