Valentines Day should not be just for couples.

Every year as Valentines Day comes around I think of how it is a day that everyone should celebrate. In my opinion there should be more emphasis on all relationships and love, and not just for couples. As kids we gave all out classmates Valentines and I think it would be great see everyone dedicate this day to show more love to everyone else.

Yes, there is something in what you said."Love makes the world go round."Valentines Day mustn't be confined to couples,It must be a festival in which people carry forward "love".

changjiangzhibin89 Exactly!! and that would make a great quote on a Hallmark Card.."Love Makes the world go round..Happy Valentines Day" I know they are starting to make some cards for family members, I jusy wonder why it isn't more widespread...

yes your right i do remember in valentines day in my school. everyone would always get valentines cards from everyone in the class with some candy those where the good old days.well when its Valentine's day in my house i always get little gifts from my father like a teddy bear my mom would buy me some of my favorite chocolate .and as for me i don't just but a gift for my husband i would always give to my family also. so you could say that in valentines day i don't celebrate it like its just a couple day.

pebblez8989..We used to give our kids presents on Valentines day too..sometimes we still do. I would like to see it become a national custom to wish everyone Happy Valentines day.

I agree. My daughter wants to make cards for her classmates. It is going to be so much fun! That is going to be our weekend project.

zukichucha .good for your daughter!! How old is she? Home made is so much more meaningful than store bought and it teaches her a valuable lesson in sharing

She is seven. It is so fun doing arts and crafts with her because she is so creative. Her cards always come out so pretty!

Hello. I'm in the UK. I think it is just something they do in the US, because over here school children are not necessarily given Valentines day cards by their class mates. I agree with you though. As someone who is single, Valentines day should be for everyone.

ebought..TY I didn't know that children didn't give cards in the UK..so is it mostly for couples in the UK? You could start a new trend..would people be accepting of wishing everyone a Happy Valentines Day??

I am a single who celebrates everything. That includes Valentine's Day. I always wear something red and I buy candy and other appropriate foods. I wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day both off and on line. I sometimes send Valentine online cards. I do remember in school that we gave our classmates valentines. I sometimes still get one from someone. I live in housing for seniors and you should see how beautifully our community rooms are decorated.

I think you are right. We need to be more loving and caring, and it needs to be all the time, not just on Valentine's Day. Sure would help life go better.

You are right. Actually our English teacher ever told us that the Valentine's Day was not only for the lovers, but also the people who you love, such as parents, friends etc. I love China

Valentines Day is actually not exclusive for couples. It's actually for everyone, young or old, single or in a relationship, girl or boy, as long as they know how to feel the love and affection towards another. That is more important and that also what makes that day essential. And the feeling of loving and being loved must not only be shown on Valentines Day but in everyday of our lives.

rubylin28 ..True, it isn't exclusively just for couples, but that is how many see it. We see some, especially females, complain and be sad because they don't have a "Valentine' Advertizig is geared towards couples and romance..I would just like to see it expanded to include love for everyone..e.g....for 'our fellow man'

Its absolutely true....it should be for everyone and not just couples....one can give out valentines to your mom dad sister, brother. Its just another way of showing that you love them. O guess thats what saint valentine wanted to tell this world.

Hi friend. That is true. Valentines Days is not just for couples. It is for all the people in earth. Because God loves us He teaches us to love and to be love. We can share our love through sharing it our love ones like our kids, parents and to our family members. We can also extend our love to the less fortunate people. Always remember that sharing is loving.
