I'm beginning to think my cats have grown THUMBS! Ethernet cables are normally a B!TCH to get loose, but tonight when we couldn't get online. The roomie checked the hook-ups and sure enough the ethernet cable was not in its plug! How did one sickly, 10 year old Snowshoe Siamese unplug THAT!?

Aww, how smart he is. Well I think he is jealous with the internet cz you spend much time for online than playing with him. Have you parted your time to play with him ?

Honestly, she's both semi-feral and sick - the ONLY thing she really wants is us to put down the wet food and leave her alone!

ooo just do what she wants and everthing will be okay . Or maybe put her in another place that have cable and the plug where she can play it freely without disturbing you, and LOCK your room.

Oh my, this is a big concern for all of us humans. You have to cage your cat because it might have plans on taking over the world. We do not know how many allies it now has in your neighbourhood. Cutting off communication from all over the world was step one and I think they failed. They might have a plan B so you have to watch out! Maybe your cat nibbled so much that it found out the end of the wire. Or your cat could be the next cat genious, we never know. How do you know your cat was the cuplrit by the way?

well, the roomie wouldn't pull the cable, it kept her off her work computer (tho she was off work, she was trying to trouble shoot on it) and there is nobody else in the room at the time... so... unless we have a ghost...

Maybe she recruited some help. Like a mouse or two, or even a raccoon. Does she often unplug things?

yep, well, actually, some of these cats are very great causes of curiosity - like where did they come from and how did they end up where they were found!

Don't you know that when you're gone the cats remove their mittens and actually have thumbs? Khuay jumped up on my computer last night while I was doing some timed typing tests and he plunked his fanny on the keyboard. I found out that he could type 60 words a minute with 65 errors. Not sure how he could type more errors than words, but that's how his test turned out.

Lady Elizabeth - She really does have thumbs!
I have to admit that I discovered the mittens claws () when Mom suggested that I put underwear on my dressed teddy bears. I tried to explain to Mom that the teddy bears don't have thumbs so they can't pull down their underwear. But I finally decided to put underwear on the bears. One morning, after I put the first pair of bloomers on one of the girl bears, I discovered this strange pile of poo. It wasn't dog or cat poo and one of the girls looked really guilty! Then I got up one night and found one of the girls with her bloomers down around her ankles and her bear fanny out in the open air! I freaked. The bears really did have thumbs, I just couldn't see them during the day!!! I instructed the bears on litter box usage and haven't had a problem since.

Ah, the mysteries of CATS! LOL That sounds like something Shakti would do. Good thing Walker switched the whole place to wireless, about four years ago. I love it, especially since I use a laptop, and an iPhone for all of my surfing needs. LOL Maybe you need to put a little camera back there, so you can catch them in action.

They don't have thumbs, but they do have teeth. And once it's loose, they will paw it like mad until it comes loose. Spot has done such quite a few times and now I have resolved this by getting a wireless router and placing it out of her way. I am also just using a wi-fi connection so she can't paw at anything at the back of my computer. It's amazing to just watch her get push doors so that she can let herself out.

actually, her mouth hurts that's why she's in the room, so she can get soft food - I don't really see her biting anything unless it were life threatening... We hope to get her well enough to see if pulling her teeth will help as much as it has for Taj, Pong and Solo...

Maybe it was loose and when the cats was there for whatever reason it became unpluged.?.?. I have 3 cats here and ive had to put locks on most of my cupboard and closet doors. The one cat in persuit of the scotch tape opened a drawer. That same cat make a huge hole in the side of a box to get a troll doll. He dont know it yet but theres another box of troll dolls under the futon. Hidden. They just do the weirdest things. It never surprizes me anymore the stuff they do. But once they are determined to do something they keep trying til they get it done. Some of which can be pretty irritating.

Mine does it too but I caught her in the act. She chews on it. And by chewing she manages to press that small secure lever and plugs it out. My solution was rather odd but worked as it worked in other cases of pets chewing stuff in the house. I smeared a little piece of chilli on it. They really don't like it. :O Just make sure you remember it yourself, before you get that on your fingers and stick it in your eye or something. =)

Hi ElicBxn, Don't just look on one side because you never know what really happened why your internet is unplug because you don't have enough evidence. Try to observe and search more to clear things. And to have good relationship with the cat.

Star has her own relationships with humans, actually, as little as possible - unless its involving food! And she's not real strong because she is sick, and the electronics are (mostly) out of her reach...

Could someone the last time it was adjusted not screwed it in all the way to where it became loose just from your cat maybe playing with the cord or laying on it? Many times this could be a lot of the factor, and at least it was just a minor fix and nothing major. Because it is a pain when something, like especially the Internet is not working well.

I rather suspect that it might not have gotten in correctly in the first place, but still, its up where its out of reach of this cat, so go figure!

Cats never seize to amaze me. And they are strong too. My daughter has two cats at her house and I am always having to go into the kitchen and telling one of them to stop it. It goes in there and opens and closes the kitchen cabinets and they slam every time, and it he doesn't get them open right away, he's slamming them until he gets a good grip and gets it open so he can go in. I only have one cat now, which is different. I've usually had 2 or 3 at one time. I would keep one kitten out of momma's litter, allow her to have one litter and then have them fixed. One of my momma cats disappeared when she was about to give birth and the only male cat I ever kept, Solomon, came up missing also.
