Venting on Police Brutality

I just watched a new video on Youtube that made me utterly disgusted in our justice system. I will paste the link if you would like to brave it out for yourself, but I must warn you, the video is pretty graphic and you WILL be left distraught. The video is a compilation of police beatings taking place at different locations in the US. There is a Part 1 and a Part 2 (which is where I gave up watching and closed Youtube). First, I want to say that, yes, I know that not all Law Enforcement Officers are scums of the Earth like these ones in the video. That would be highly stereotypical. Like saying all Muslims are terrorists because of 9/11 or all Americans are stupid because George Bush was President... Something dumb like that. What gets me is, if an everyday citizen were in the shoes of these policemen, they would be tried, convicted and sentenced to Life, probably Death. Why do Police Officers get a slap on the wrist? They get to turn in their gun and badge(always procedure when an officer fires a weapon) and put on leave while "investigations" are made. Most of the "investigations" end in the officer's favor. Most are chalked up to "The officer followed procedure". They shouldn't get a free ride just because they hide behind a uniform, ESPECIALLY when there is hard evidence like in these clips. Another disturbing thing is that when the beatings are taking place, none of the other officers around try to stop their fellow co-workers! Some of them even join in! It just makes me sick that LEO's are supposed to keep people safe, "to serve and protect", and we're supposed to entrust in them. Something really needs to give in our justice system, like major psych evaluations and drastic consequences for actions such as these. That is all. http://youtu.be/XxlL0I5AWLI
