Hi everyone! I am back. I was browsing my facebook lately and found out that i have 968 friends all in all in my friends list. I began to browse my friends list and noticed that some names of my friends were already changed. Well me I have not change my name in facebook ever since so that my friends will know that it's really me. Now as I was browsing my list, i was beginning to wonder if they were the real person representing that name or maybe made some alias pretending to be somebody else or pretending to be my friend so that I can add them also to be my friend.Right? Now I decided to delete some friends in my list. The ones that remains are those persons who really know me and know them too! It's just that lots of negative things that happened in. Somebody could be in my facebook pretending to be my friends and will just steal my identity or pictures and much more maybe they will make fun of it. So it's better to keep on staying with real friends. Sorry If i deleted someone in my facebook.

968 friends is a lot of friends! Well, compared to my 85 it is, at least :P I completely understand your concerns. I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to Facebook. My profile is invisible if someone goes to search for it, meaning the only way someone can become my friend is if I add THEM first. This guarantees that there is no fraud going on. I also only add people that I know: friends and family members. Old friends from elementary school that I don't talk to anymore get deleted in an annual "friend sweep" I do because I figure "What's the use of being friends with them on Facebook if we never even talk?" and I'd much rather see updates from friends I'm in touch with than people who have become near strangers. Statuses, photos, videos, etc can also have customized privacy settings if you're worried about that. When I post more personal thoughts as my status, I customize it so that only my closest friends can see that particular update. Some people tease me about this cautiousness but it gives me a sense of privacy and comfort while enjoying Facebook.

That's my theory: better safe than sorry. I like the way I manage my friends because I feel comfortable and safe on the website and able to express myself without worrying about what people will think or do if they see certain statuses. I had "cyber safety" drilled into me from a very young age and it just sort of stuck around in my mind.

I had ever done it before. I have many friends on Facebook. and I don't know most of them. I added them when they were shown in my wall. But after sometimes I made a friend with them, they look so strange. and most of them never gave any comments to my status. So, I decided to delete some of them who never had contacts with me. Frankly speaking I was so bored reading their status on my wall and getting tired to read something I don't take interested in them..

it's nice to have like comments from your friends when you post anything with facebook. but if they are not really your friends they won't care anyway. so better delete them.

I ever deleted the friends who I don't know from my Facebook account. Later I felt regretful to it. Since some online earning tasks require to have at least 500 friends in Facebook so that you are qualified to finish these tasks. So I have to add more unknown people in my account. So whenever I have one new friend in Facebook, I will never delete him/her again.
I love China

As for my own opinion changing your name in your Facebook account does not necessarily mean that you are not the same person whose using the account. Some facebook account users do that just to add variety on their profile.but in your case if you feel that it's not the same person anymore i think it's best to delete them or further your account's privacy which is available also in facebook.Every thing you post on your facebook account can be screened by choosing who can view your pictures, videos, places you've been in, status updates and your comments .I guess you just have to explore some of facebook's privacy features too so that you wont have trouble deleting friends whom you are suspecting that may be a suspicious friend..
