Sometimes we hear something, we listen to it attentively but there come situations where we need to see to understand what we listen. So i feel listening and seeing go hand in hand. Like for example a boy and girl talking about something which when we listen could mean something and then we realize well they were siblings, or like a father and daughter. Many a times just listening doesn't help, seeing what you have been listening again changes the whole picture. We may hear a father and daughter talking over the phone or behind doors. After listening to their conversation we come to a conclusion that they could be lovers but later if we discover we learn that they were actually father-daughter or say brother-sister. So, i hope i am able to put across my thoughts right here. So i feel seeing and listening in many situations go hand in hand. Only listening and not seeing could again change the whole scenario and also only seeing and not listening could again change the entire story. What do you think?

that's why if we are suspicious of someone or something we might as well confirm it.not just be contented of what we heard or seen.coz as you said,it might not be as we think it is.

I guess it depends on the person. According to a doctor i know, a neurologist that is my teacher in med school, there are actually two kinds of people. A visual person and an auditory person. A visual person is the person who relies solely on his vision on remembering things. For example, if he wants to remember a particular day, he tries to remember it by recalling what did he saw on that specific day. The auditory person is the one who recalls things by remembering what he had heard on that specific moment.

thank you valexer for your response. Yes some people only understand things when its visual, either written on board or through slide show etc whereas some understand by only audio, some have to close their eyes to listen carefully to what the person is saying.

In case you are advising someone this is not necessary that you have both seeing and listening. Even with intense listening you can succeed reaching your goal.
Listening is an art and every one can not be expected to be a good listener. The general tendency of ours' is to unfold ourselves more than receive from others.
