Gerrard, the best candidate for England Captain to replace Terry

As we know, England has storm in the soccer national team after Capello resignation. The Care taker stuart pearce, should also start looking for England Captain. Many candidate names been rose like Joe Hart, Ferdinand,Lampard, Scott Parker and also Stevan Gerrard. Even Hart and Ferdinand have rejected this offer but still three candidates remain. Scott Parker and Lampard has shown great ability and leadership in City and Chelsea club respectively. However, Gerrard seems the strongest candidate with his experiences to bring Liverpool became two time Euro Champion league winner and also has experienced as England Captain in last world cup..I think he is the best candidate for this position.. What do you think?Do you think Gerrard deserve to be England Captain?

I feel the same way as you do that Gerrard is the best man for the English captaincy. He is experienced, strong, commanding, and influential. He is a regular for both his club and country. He has been a model footballer ever since he broke into the Liverpool first team. I hope he gets the job.

i think now the first FA must do is selecting the coach.. the captain is the next priority

well, you have good points.. Gerrard has everything to be a captain, starting from experience and Leadership he has ...he able to motivate their team member even behind, looking at the FA cup match against United.. when the game will ended really hard to predict ..appreciate your response..

i blv steven gerrard deserved to be the captain from 2006 although it's not too late now all they have is Steven gerrard because that guy is the only footballer who never gives up, so, Gerrard should be the captain of England

well, you could be right..England even with Capello, predicted hard to become champion in this tournament looking at the strong counter parts like Spain, Germany and Holland.. I think those three will be win the title this year..The reasonable target could be the olympic where will be held in London.. I think Stuart Pearce has prepared the under 21 team well and they most probably will do something in this Olympic to win the gold medal..appreciate your response...

and FA make mistake they did not know the authority of the coach it include the option for appointing the captain.. FA is really stupid and make a big mistake i think

I think Gerrard is the favorite for the England job. The other names being tossed around are Joe Hart, Scott Parker and Gareth Barry. But I think it should go to Gerrard. Of course, if Redknapp takes over as all are expecting, then Parker might get a bit more consideration. Cheers! Ram

Although Gerrard is a great player he is not very vocal. I personally would like to see Scott Parker as the new England captain and if Harry Rednapp becomes manager then there is a good chance that he will be captain.
